Not for Casual Use

I have this printer, it was super easy to set up and super easy to use. However if we don't print something everyday, the heads get dried out and you have to clean them before use. It is costing me a fortune in ink. I don't recommend this for anyone not using it on a daily basis.

I am not a computer genius so when my 5 yr old printer died I dreaded installing a new one. I have an older PC but we also have a tablet and a smart phone so a printer that could print for all three devices would be great. Well, The Epson was easy to install. Maybe 20 minutes. Prints great. Had no trouble figuring out how to Print from tablet. Love it!

I dabble in photography and was very pleased with the glossy print quality. Handles two sided printing with ease. My current XP-400 is a replacement as the original purchase had faulty software. This happens with all electronics and Epson sent me a new printer at no charge. Very solid customer service.

Never bought a printer before, this is my very first. It was very simple and easy to setup and install, the whole process. The test pages came out perfect so I'm very happy and proud of myself for being able to get it done in less than an hour from the point of opening a box to writing this rating. Everything is easy the instructions to running it.

Total pain to install

I'm an extremely tech savvy person, even a software programmer, and it took me hours to get this thing installed over wireless. It "connected" to my wireless effortlessly, but then since you have to use the Epson software and not the built in windows "Add a printer" function, the stupid software could never find the printer for some reason even though it was clearly connected to my wi-fi. I even disabled all firewalls and it still wouldn't work.
Eventually, I dug up a USB cable and set up the wireless using the USB setup. This didn't even work the first time, but then randomly the second time it just worked even though I didn't change anything.
This printer seems to work fine, but I was literally 5 seconds from returning it to the store when it finally installed correctly. I realize my experience may be uncommon, but based on this, I don't think I could recommend this to anyone unless you intend to use it over USB only.

I did 3 test. 1 for print quality. one for copy quality, one for scan quality. All 3 were excellent quality.
