This printer is very easy to set up. It is very consumer friendly, I had no issues connecting the wireless aplication. The printing is clear and crisp. I would recommend this to others.

First printing experience

I barely set this up before I had to jump into production with a 63 page document! As I was still on the "priming" ink cartridges, I was leery of setting the whole document to print, so printed in sets of 10 pages. GREAT OUTCOME! And I still have ink (although I purchased additional cartridges as well).
The "print window" is really nice, you can check ink levels as well as the document queue there and it displays how many pages you are printing. I liked this feature a lot.
It's a very quiet printer. Looking forward to using the big display window (which has great contrast by the way) to do more like selecting pictures from a memory card to print.
I opted for USB at this point, but the setup was so easy that I may switch over to wireless at some point.
I will miss some of the features of my other printer (hope I can get it fixed!) but this was a great solution and may be a preferred printer after I get to know it better.

Pleasantly Surprised

I purchased this for when I travel and need to print documents and photos. It was the easiest printer that I have set up yet. It is intuitive and simple. I set it up on two Mac Books, two android and an IPhone which took less than a have hour for all of them. The WiFi works better than expected. It is much lighter than its competetors yet feels sturdy for its size.

Pretty little All-in-One

Printing is quick, and the controls at the printer are great. I love that I can scan and email (as long as my computer is on and Outlook is open). Only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is because the instructions for the wi-fi capabilities are very vague. I could scan-save to the computer and scan-email from the printer, but I could not print. I could not "see' the printer without a cable. The instructions never addressed what the problem was - Windows automatically installs drivers. I tried over and over for 2 days until I finally read not to plug in the printer until after installing software (this instruction is only found in 1 place). Even then I had to make it retry looking for the printer 3-4 times before it worked.

Out of the box.

Very easy to setup out of the box. Was not happy with the quality. Had to clean the heads and perform and alignment. Quality improved but the jury is still out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

For the price of the printer, the features are great. I especially like the wireless capability! The printing quality is good. But my least favorite thing is the ink capacity, it is so little. I only printed a couple of documents, probably less than 20 pages, then it already gave me a low ink warning. And to think, ink is not cheap for these printers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Perfect all-in-one

I was in the market for a printer and browsing around came across Epson xp-400. What a great find!!Wi-fi feature is very easy to set up. Printing quality is excellent. It takes up very small amount of space. Best of all the ink prices are affordable. Having 2 kids in school, we go through lots of ink. I would definetly recommend this product.

Mostly works, almost two stars

It prints. It prints wireless from our netbooks.
How come, during the setup while searching for the printer it (the software) couldn't find the printer? Whatever, like I said, they're all connected and print. I guess the only downfall of that is that "Epson Connect" doesn't function. Also, I can't scan from the printer. Only from the computer.
Oh well, it prints. It fulfills it's purpose. I just have "challenges" with the little things that it is not doing. Who knows, maybe when I need to buy more ink I will buy a different printer. Or, I'll learn to be content and satisfied with the job it is doing.
