I have the above printer. I recently installed all new inkjets and now it will not print.
i have taken them out, re-installed them, examined them to make sure all packing material is removed to no avail.
I am desperate to get this printer working.

Unreliable ink system

Unreliable-it began with a BK black ink cartridge that leaked all inside of the printer within the first month of light use. Then the color went haywire and everything printed pink. After numerous "clean the print heads", followed by print head alignment - every maintenance idea that was available, I emailed Epson. I had the printer for less than a year
They responded quickly and sent me a new printer. It worked for one week. Now it will not recognize the Epson BK black ink cartridge. Do I spend more money on new ink cartridges? The ink cartridge in the printer is one week old! What will go wrong next?
Print quality good when it is working. Overall it would rate low because it's worthless as it is now. Too bad, this is a nice size. Very disappointed. My other a Epson us a R1900 wide format, no problems with that one. And I had a 300 series inkjet for 8 years no problems.
This XPERIA-400 has been disappointing.

Good for a few months

At first I liked the printer so much I recommended it to a few friends. It was a simple printer, quiet enough, fast enough and was a copier and scanner as well!
Then after just one use of an ink cartridge, the problems began. The black ink would not print. It was sketchy and I had to print an email 4-5 times to print it clearly.
Now, it won't print at all.

Getting Started

I gave my tower computer and printer to my daughter. I purchased a laptop but needed a printer. I didn't want the lowest priced or the highest priced and found Epsom in the middle with every function that I wanted, especially wireless. After opening and removing all the barriers I started reading the instruction brochure. So far so good with the simple stuff. What had me worried is I did not have a usb cord which was recommended for first time install of the wireless printer to the computer but it said I could do it without it. It was very easy. Just put in the install disc and followed the on screen instructions. First time, Success!!!. I was so relieved. Epson made it easy for this senior citizen.

The XP-400 Small-in-One.

Compact size; many fewer cables lying around. Easy setup. My Printer is connected on a four computer LAN. Epson Scan is great (also have an Epson flat-bed scanner). Copy quality very good, scan to computers feature very useful. Manual Controls easily mastered. Early reviews claimed high ink cost per sheet... I'll know more about that as the printer gains usage. I also have one other wireless and one USB connected printers.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ease of Use

This machine was so easy to set up and use. I was using it probably 20 minutes after I deboxed it! I love the unwired blue-tooth capability since it made it possible for me to use my tablet to print. The images it prints are crisp and clear and I am thoroughly satisfied with my purchase! I have always loved Epson products and this purchase reaffirms that.
