This product is somewhat heavy, so it feels rugged, strong, and able to withstand fire and water. However, the latching mechanism is made entirely of plastic. The key lock is metal, but it only secures the plastic latch. I think that it would be relatively quick and easy to break into this case. It would be a great (and simple) improvement to have the latching mechanism made of metal instead of plastic to add some security.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Locking mechanism won’t work.

I purchased the SentrySafe Small Chest H0100 a couple of years ago, and the locking mechanism will not lock. It locked the first couple of times I had to access the items kept inside, but now it won’t lock or stay latched. I’m using a waist belt to keep it closed from spilling the contents.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
