Weak handle, Poor lock

Tried to replace an old SentrySafe 1170 as I've digitized most stuff and got tired of lifting it, but it was very well built. This H0100 might survive the fire or hurricane, but why it needed a squeeze button in addition to turning the key... It often takes two hands to squeeze it enough to pop the lid! Plastic handle is not luggage-quality; over 20 lb (empty) is twisting it, so I'd hardly call this carry-able. In case of fire, by all means, grab something else and leave this safe. Not surprised to see feedback on this item falling apart within a couple of years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best Fire and Waterproof Safe Ever

I bought this safe 11 years ago and never thought anything of it.
Then this past Monday July 8, 2019 our home was completely gutted by fire.
We lost everything or so we thought. To our surprise one of the firemen found the safe in the ashes and brought it over to us. We were unable to unlock it due to the keys melting.
Later that evening we had it cut open and to our surprise everything inside was in perfect condition.
I highly recommended this safe. Best investment I ever made.

I guess I like it. If it protects as promised - that's all I care about. But the weight of it was almost a deal killer. I can barely life it. And the only way I can close it is to get it to a hard surface (not the floor) and sit on it. Not great for old ladies :)

I was hoping that this would hold 8 1/2 x 11 documents without having to fold them. Otherwise it's OK. I would recommend a larger size for insurance documents etc

I like the small size and it holds enough of the most important documents I need kept safe and secure. The downside is that it is quite heavy and, could be made with some type of lighter, yet effective material.

This is a replacement for the old one i bought 30 years ago cause the cheap plastic hinge ends broke off. I hope this one will last. The new model has a lift latch, a better lock. But this model, dont use for theft, use the safe.
