Was purchased to replace DVD player. Easy set up, clear viewing with regular DVDs. Do not own Blue-ray Discs, so I cannot comment on that. My only issue is that I cannot not get it to sync with my internet (Wi-Fi), which is why I cannot give it a higher rating. Sorry.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hello 2Classy!
Thank you for your feedback, unfortunately the only models similar to this with the capabilities to connect to a Wi-Fi are BDP-S3200, BDP-BX320, BDP-S5200 and BDP-BX520 only.
So far this player is doing everything I expected from it. Hookup was simple and I like that it has Coaxial Digital out for my receiver. This player does a nice job of up-converting non Blu-ray movies. I haven't hooked it up to my network yet, maybe I'll get a WiFi adapter (not built-in) and give it a try. Once I use it more I may adjust my rating. Still think it's a great player for the price.
Easy to hook up - it worked - what more do you need - did not connect smart features - tv already does that - just wanted an inexpensive bluray player to play discs
No complaints about this bluray player. The streaming works well with lots of choices and if even played AVI files off a USB that my computer wouldn't even play. It is virtually silent as can be in the quick start mode it starts up immediately to that usual Sony menu style.
