It Stopped Working

Only had it for less than 4 years when it stopped heating. It would turn on but it wouldn't heat at all. Now it doesn't turn on at all. Really disappointed with GE brand. So far, 2 out of my 6 GE appliances have stopped working, all of them are 4 years old. I will not be buying GE ever again.

15 second intervals

“Higher end” microwave that requires you to push a dial twice and then push the “start” button in order to begin working. It only allows you to cook in 15 second intervals - there is no number pad. If you are hearing baby bottles, this requires your full attention ij order to prevent overheating. The popcorn feature works well. Otherwise, I’m not impressed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good looking with a few quirks

This was purchased to replace an older Profile microwave that was not repairable. It's stylish for sure, although there are numerous differences between this and the old version. Visually I like that the overall look, and handle in particular, look like my new Profile refrigerator but don't know why they chose a white display when EVERY other Profile appliance I own has a green display. The black interior is unlike most microwaves and resembles the nearly bulletproof ceramic of a conventional oven. One nice feature is the ability to turn off turntable rotation when warming on large square plates where the corners won't clear.
The knob controlling cook time and power level is a bit awkward at first, but I'm getting used to it. Still, I would prefer to have a numeric keypad, as I really, really miss the quick modes... press 1 for one minute, etc. There are preset modes for popcorn and other functions, but more often than any of those I'm warming something for 1 minute. At least it has an add 30 seconds button.
The surface light is LED, and while I appreciate the long life and energy efficiency of those bulbs, the color of the light cast on the range top makes food being cooked there look unappealing, so I rely on the nearby under-cabinet lights except when cleaning.
I mostly bought GE for quality, and this does seem like a quality unit that will last, but the knob controls are not all that intuitive - especially after we've all been trained to use keypads on virtually every device in our lives.

Solid sharp looking Dependable GE Profile

Great microwave, replaced a 14 year old GE Profile. Never had a problem in 14 Years, used multiple times a day everyday for 14 Years, then finally one day the touch pad stopped working. Replaced it with another GE Profile. highly recommend.
