I am a fan of otterbox cases and I always buy them for my smartphones. I recently purchase the defender series for the NOTE 7 and I like the fact that the case is not too bulky but still protects the phone. One issue that I found on this case is the screen protector. I notice that debris such as dust gets inside the screen protector. This case is suppose to be dust free, but dust still gets inside the screen protector. Other than that, this case still protects my phone really well.

Overall very dissatisfied with OtterBox's new Defender Case for the Note 7 which I was extremely looking forward to since the launch of the new phone. Here's why.
1. Volume buttons do not sit flush with the case, meaning if you try to push the buttons, it'll slide off to the side and nothing will happen.
2. Overall the new case seems like it's 2x thinner than the previous than the Note 5 Defender making it feel more vulnerable to damage. Intact there seems to be hardly any size difference between the Commuter case and the defender case!
3. Good luck trying to get your defender case to clip onto the belt clip on your first try. Unlike the note 5 defender case, you'll most likely have to end up using both hands or apply TONS of pressure just to hear the "click" to ensure your phone is nicely secured.

THE SCREEN PROTECTOR DOES NOT SIT FLUSH ON THE SCREEN . which MAKES YOU HAVE TO PUSH HARD ON THE SCREEN AND THE SIDE BUTTONS DO NOT WORK WELL EITHER. MY NOTE 3 OTTERBOX CASE IS MILES AHEAD OF THIS ONE

Great case except for Screen protector

Ok so I've been along time customer and believer of the defender series. I've had one on my phones since the note 2 and I've loved them I've dropped my phones and never nothing.. but with this one everything is great except one of the clips doesn't snap on the hard plastic part and the screen protector sets alil high off the screen so it makes the screen unresponsive and makes for sending text or anything a pain in the butt cause u have to press the keys hard or even multiple times before it responds..
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've read the other reviews and there were complaints about the screen membrane and thumbprint reader/home button cutout. The only thing I've seen wrong is the cutout. Other than that, it's a great case. After I got it, there was some extra adhesive from the screen membrane on the left edge of the screen, but I got it off.

This case is ok but it's nothing like the old Otter box defender series use to be. It still provides great drop protection for your phone even with its amazingly slim design. But the built in screen protector doesn't sit flush on the screen of the phone. And with that comes with dust and other elements being stuck between your phone screen protector and phone screen. You also have to push with a little bit of force for text and touch inputs. The belt clip and stand are still solid. All in all its still a good case. It comes in very handy and gives me great peace of mind knowing that I have great protection while on the job ( I work in manufacturing) and while being out and about.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Have bought them in past and loved them, I now have a curved screen phone and front cover does not fit flush against screen, there is a gap and you have to sometimes tap several times to make it work. Really upsets me because I prefer a sturdy case to protect expensive phone.

Item works just like it should and is the only protection I use for smart phones. I recommend defender cases to anyone looking for protection of their new phone. If it contains an explosion I really wouldn't be surprised. Tuff, durable, and long lasting protection is what you can expect from this case.
