Disappointed....

I have owned every Galaxy phone to date, and have had a Defender for each of them. I recently decided to try out the Note. Of course Samsung decided to add the RIDICULOUS EDGE PANELS on the Note 7. I imagine that is why this case is not as good as other Defender cases. Everything about the case is excellent, EXCEPT that the screens cover doesn't fit tight to the screen. I measured 1.5cm of space from the screen to the screen cover. I work construction and get the Defender for its rugged protection, screen covering, and DUST PROTECTION. This case wont allow for DUST protection due to the over sized screen protector. It's also a pain to have to touch the screen so hard just to get buttons to register.... if the screen protector fit tighter to the phone I'd give 5 stars, cause everything else about the case is flawless. To have to wait so long after the Note 7 initial release just to get this was a real bummer. Not at all what I have come to respect and EXPECT from an Otterbox Defender......

Screen protector is raised off of screen.

I purchased and just received 2 Defenders for our Note 7's, and as many have said in their reviews, the screen protector does not sit flush on the screen on both Defenders. It is raised about 0.040" (40 thousandths of an inch). May not sound like much, but it negatively affects the touch sensitivity. Had a difficult time writing this review. Something is way off on their manufacturing process and quality control.
I've been an avid Defender user for 6+ years and between all family devices I have purchased no fewer than 25 Defenders. Do the math and that's about $1500. The body of this case feels less substantial than my previous Defenders. With the other models they felt beefy and solid. This model, not so much.
This is by far the worst model to date. I am extremely disappointed.

There has to be a mix up this can't be Otterbox!

Ok so my Otterbox defender for note 7 arrived and I couldn't be more excited. I have owned lots of otterboxes in past loved each one. Got it out of box and immediately notice 2 litte dings in the screen protector. At this finding I was disapointed but knew I could look past them once it was on phone and phone was powered up I doubt I could even see them... or so I thought. Then I cleaned my new non exploding note 7 and carefully put on case. First sign of problem was while putting on outer cover I noticed clicking sounds of my thumbs on the screen. The entire screen protector is lifted off in the middle of phone. thinking I must of not got something lined up right I removed the case and replaced it multiple times in efforts to even slightly improve the problem with no succes. The gap at the speaker cutout is so large you can fit a penny between the screen and the protector. With just a few hours in my pocket it is completly full of lint and hairs. Typing on this is a joke you have to press extra hard to make the screen protector reach. This is so bad that if I hadn't just got this from otterbox themselfs I would think this is cheep knockoff. I bought a cheep case from china that had cats on it for my daughter for less than 5 dollars with better built in screen protector on it.
Pros: The back ruber has a nice feel, not too slippy not too grippy
Cons: The screen protector came damaged out off box but even if it hadn't it would still be worthless, to say doesn't sit flat is a comical understatment, makes using the phone a frustrating experience, looking at the reflection off the screen protector looks like rippling water its so warped
Side note: Lots of people saying problems with side buttons for power and volume, did not experience that, that feel and operate normal. Im hoping that my issue is a fluke and not what we can expect from otterbox from now on.

Screen Protector Needs work

I got my otter box a few days ago. Like everyone says the screen protector is in definite need of work. The touch sensitivity is terrible. It does seem to get lint and debris under the screen protector quite easily. I didn't even have the case on 24 hours and got a light scratch mark on the case, which I had not done easily if at all on my last 3 defender cases. everything else about the case seems fine I like the thinner look of the case. But until they can get the screen protector design better I can't recommend the defender case.

Not so great

From the first day installing the case I've had issues. When the volume buttons are pressed sometimes they do not make contact with the phone buttons. Also the screen protector does not fit tight on the screen leaving a space between it and the phone making you have to press harder. By the way I purchased two of these for me and my wife and both have the same issues.

This case doesn't work properly

I just received my case last night. I've always had defenders on my iPhones and thought it would be tbe same product on the Note 7. The volume buttons work half the time, and the svreen protector is just awful. The big cut out on the top raises from the glass and dust gets inside. I've already had to take it off once to clean. Not worth the money

Worst Otterbox I have purchased

I have had an Otterbox since the very first one you guys put out for the first Iphone and have loved your products ever since but lately have been let down. Not only did I have to wait over a month for you guys to make this case for the Note 7, but I was so happy when I finally received it, that I put it on right away. That"s when I noticed the touchscreen wasn't responsive like it usually was. I am forced to push all the way down on the screen like I want to put my finger through it for it to be responsive. Now I don't know if the screen protector is too thick or what, but something needs to be done. After reading some of the other reviews on here, now I understand that there are a lot of people having issues, not just me. I really hope that you have fixed this issue with the case and that is why you are out of stock. Very disappointed in this case.

Had defender cases for previous phones that were much better in quality. The home button cutout is slightly off, the volume down button is flimsy making it tough to use, you have to push it at the right angle or it won't work, and also the case can be had to snap into the holster at times, maybe I got a defective unit but just expected a better design for the money this case costs
