I ordered this on line & it arrived in less than 7 days. Easy to install just pictures no words to read so great for any language. I've owned previous similar Defender products for example for the Note 2. I ride a motorcycle therefore the phone is exposed to the hot southern sun for many hours. In previous products the rubber would expand & even more so if removed too often. The good thing was that I got free replacements. I'm hoping that this newer version will withstand the hot sun but it does have a different texture & feel so time will tell. The case is tough & thick. I believe it will protect your phone in most cases of handheld drops. I had an experience where my phone disconnected from the m/c holder while traveling at 55 mph. When I finally found it it had a small crack on the screen but the phone worked fine. I do believe that the case took the brunt of the fall as it bounced several times before landing. My only minor complaint on this model is that the clear plastic cover does not sit up against the phone's glass thereby leaving a small air gap that I find a bit annoying because when typing you have to be dead on & press down harder to overcome the air space to type. So texting is slower. I would recommend this product.
I received this case about a week ago and I figured Id try it out before writing a review. I have owned 10 plus defender cases and this has to be the worst of all of them. I can say that the slimmer design is a plus but the screen protector is terrible to say the least. After two days of use I had to take it apart and clean the screen of all the dirt and dust that got up under the screen protector. There is gaps on the top and the bottom that let dust into the case. On top of that the touch sensitivity is really bad on the top left and bottom left of the screen. I'm forever mistyping text messages and emails. Ive never had this many issues with an otterbox until now. I'm very disappointed with this product as it was not cheap and this is the quality that we got? I hope that I can get a replacement with hopefully a better fit. Help Otterbox!!

Hi Reaper333,
Thanks so much for being a fan of our Defender cases over the years. We are sorry that this Defender for your Galaxy Note 7 is allowing dust to sneak under the screen protector and that it is hindering the touch screen sensitivity. We assure you that this is not typical and we absolutely want to turn things around. Please give our friendly Otters a call at 1-855-688-7269, and we will be more than happy to get a new warranty replacement set up for you!

I upgraded from the Note 2, which I love, to the Note 7. Bought the Defender for my Note 2 as soon as it was available and have sung it's praises many times over. Like others, I waited for the Defender case to come out to protect my Note 7. I have had the case a couple of days now. IMHO, is it as good as the Defender on my Note 2 - No. Is it still a great case for protection, I believe so.
Others have complained about the screen protector reducing the sensitivity of the screen. I have found this to be true along the perimeter of the screen, largely in the lower right and left corner "buttons" and on the extremes of the keyboard. However, for the majority of the screen, I have not incurred that issue. The screen protector seems to be made up of a different material than my previous defender's screen protector. The Defender for the note 2 had a flat protector that was very stiff, which is fine on a phone that has no rounded screen sides. This material seems to be slightly softer and thicker, to the point that you can see and feel what i'll call "ripples", or inconsistencies of thickness, in the material. I think these two characteristics are what contribute to the sensitivity loss.
As far as the dirt issue, so far, I have not had that problem, however i don't have the phone in a dirty environment, so I may not be the best judge of that. Due to the thickness and "ripples" in the screen protector, it doesn't lay as flat as the previous protector did, and thus the material is raised up in places.
One thing I do find amusing is the flaps they put over the charging port and headphone jack. As the phone is waterproof (ok, technically water resistant) I don't see the flaps as being needed. Afterall, neither the microphone nor the speaker are protected with a flap (and they shouldn't be.)
As far as the overall purpose to protect the phone from damage incurred by dropping it, I believe they have done as good a job as they could. I don't feel the level of protection for the 7 is as good as that for the 2, however, its the characteristics of the 7 itself that make that impossible. The 7 case cannot complete wrap around the phone to provide protection on the front side, due to the need for having the curved screen edges exposed. I am trusting Otter that this new Defender will do its job when (unfortunately not if) I accidentally drop the phone.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hi gojeffgo,
Thanks for your feedback! We are sorry that the screen protector on this Defender is slightly interfering with your touchscreen sensitivity. This is not normal and if you find that the issue persists please feel free to give us a call at 1-855-688-7269, and we will be happy to set up a warranty replacement.
The port doors on the charge port and headphone jack are there to help keep dust and dirt from those important nooks and crannies. We don’t put flaps on the speaker and microphone areas because dust and dirt are not as much of a threat for those components and there is nothing to plug into those spots that would be hindered by dust/dirt build up. Plus we think it would be inconvenient to deal with port doors every time your phone rang.

Just received my Defender today for my Note 7, put in on and it fits great. Only thing I might be a little concerned about it is if the phone starts to heat up will I be able to tell thru the case, but fits and looks great.
The plastic cover makes it hard to type and very very hard four screen shots. The Old cases are better. No dust protection like the old cases. Don't be in a hurry to buy.

I BOUGHT THIS A FEW WEEKS AGO AND I WAS PLEASED TO HAVE RECIEVED IT, BUT I OPEN THE PACKAGE AND FOUND TWO SCRATCHES ACROSS THE PLASTIC SCREEN PROTECTOR OTHER THAN THAT THE QUALITY IS AS GREAT AS ALWAY. THANKS OTTERBOX
