Greatest Android device and oddly enough BlackBerr
on November 11, 2015

The greatest BlackBerry and Android device in one.
Keyboard -
For those who don't like physical keyboards you don't have to use it. It hardly creates any bulk or weight. The virtual keyboard on the device is amazing.
It took a few days to get used to but I now work off of the physical keyboard for the most part. I though the keyboard would be too small for my large hands, not the case after a bit of use. The keyboard also doubles as a trackpad! This is amazing. You can use it to move the cursor in text or scroll through pages.
OS
This is lightly modified and highly secured vanilla Android OS. The best way to do it.
Software
You can always disable the BlackBerry suite, but why? The hub, contacts, calendar, notes, and Dtek is amazing.
Camera
One of the best camera's on the market. 18 MP OIS dual flash!
I expect BlackBerry to continue updating this device and the software. It is my understanding they can update most of the services through Play Store, so no carrier requirements. They also plan to send out security patches and OS updates monthly!
There are a few notification issues, but that's nothing due to BlackBerry. It is an Android issue and it appears BlackBerry has created the bones to fix these settings.
LOVE IT!

Just a great android phone in terms of innovation. Blackberry have brought their A game. And hopefully it's only going to get better. Only complain is that the phone gets a little warm, and I am not able to use the key board to go through the pages in any ebooks. Besides that it is absolutely fantastic.

New BlackBerry Priv
on December 1, 2015

Rocking the new Blackberry priv for two weeks...best phone I've ever owned. It has all the advantages of Android with some of the Blackberry features I've been missing since I left Blackberry for Android last year. Access to all apps in the Play store was key along with the security features, Blackberry calendar, Hub, contacts, keyboard, and several other Blackberry only features that enhance the ability NOT to miss a
message or notification! The camera is fine, as is the battery life. Really don't have ANY complaints. Passed my HTC on...don't miss it at all!

Blackberry Improvement

Prior to purchasing the PRIV, I owned the Blackberry Torch. I was hesitant at first but I had the 14 day trial period to work with. My two main concerns were the size and I read reviews about how one couldn't store their photos on the phone but only on the Google "cloud". Well, I am still getting used to the size of the phone compared to the Torch, and I am seeing that the size has its advantage when viewing photos, messages, and all other display items. My second concern was unfounded. Yes, you CAN store photos, videos, on the phone, on a media card and backup to Google. The phone is similar to my wife's I-Phone with how icons are displayed and the ease of going to one setup screen to access different features. With the Blackberry Hub, it is nice to have all my messages in one location (or not if I choose), and composing messages is a lot easier than the Torch where I had to select the different type of message from the icon prior to composing. I really like being able to download Adobe Acrobat as an app where I can finally see PDF files. My biggest complaint is the photo/video app. With my Torch photos and videos were stored under separate locations whereas with the PRIV they are together. Also with the Torch I could place my folders in alphabetical order and rearrange photos within folders. The PRIV does not give that option but places photos with the most recent. Even creating albums will not allow one to place them in any special order. (I have sent my feedback to Blackberry on this). Overall, I am impressed and do not regret my purchase. The Android system really has opened up the app options for me (even though I don't use many apps).

Awesome Phone!

I'm a die hard QWERTY user. The PRIV reminds me of my old BB Torch but turbo charged. Bright, beautiful curved edge screen, easy to navigate, easy to use. The camera takes bright, beautiful photos and video. I held onto my Torch for over 4 years and refused to upgrade to something I wouldn't be happy with. Blackberry came through with the PRIV. I absolutely LOVE IT!

Fantastic phone

I think Blackberry really nailed the hardware on the phone. I would have preferred to have it running BB10 OS. This phone on BB10 would have been a beast. Great feel in the hand. Beautiful display, fast, nice feature set built into the Blackberry launcher. I use the virtual keyboard and it's great. Better on BB10 but still good on Android. I mostly use the slide up keyboard to browse like a track pad.

Best android phone released in 2015

Awesome android phone. 10/10
This is probably one of the best phones of 2015. The phone looks amazing, has a great slide-out keyboard that doubles as a trackpad so your get much less fingerprint buildup on screen. The screen has bright vibrant colors and looks amazing with the edged screen. It only gets better with the all day battery life. I use the phone all day and still have 33% left on a typical day. Blackberry uses a very well skinned and super secure version of Android. The skin gives you a lot of productivity benefits. Swipe from the edge to pull up calendar, tasks, texts all in easy way. Can mute while in meets automatically. Blackberry patches all the securityholes in Android on a monthly basis, and on top of that gives you dtek security software to make sure your keeping your phone secure in a very easy way. The rear camera takes good photos in good lighting. Anything less then good lighting it gets a little grainy but still a solid photo. Low light is very grainy. The front camera is pretty weak. Selfies are okay but my old lg g3's front camera was way better, only weak spot on phone besides no infared. Best phone out in 2015 imo. With android marshmallow being updated soon, and quick updates, and being encrypted by default, this is highly recommended to anyone who values their privacy

Everything I need in a phone and a work tool. I can't say enough about how easy it is to use the many features. Best BlackBerry ever and definitely one of the best smart phones available.
