No match for the BlackBerry Classic
on January 19, 2016

The easiest phone to use is the BlackBerry Classic. The BlackBerry 10 OS is far similar to use. The Android for PRIV is clumsy by comparison. The BB10 OS operates by simple gestures while the Android operates with three buttons at the bottom. It takes one to two additional clicks with Android than the OS10. The PRIV battery takes 3 hours to charge or discharge. Classic battery lasts 8 or longer on a full charge. The Classic key board has a better feel than PRIV. Easy to identify what kind of messages arrive on the Classic, but hard to find on Android. If you never used the BlackBerry OS10 you'll think the PRIV is just fine.

Great Design So-So performance

This is the phone I was looking for. However after moderate use the phone heats up to the point you can't hold it. Causing google play services to shut down and the front facing camera to go green (not a good thing). Phone restores to normal after "cooling down".

Trying so hard to like the Priv
on November 10, 2015

I purchased the Priv first thing Friday on release and wanted so badly to love this phone. I do enjoy most things about it. The display is incredible and you cannot beat the Blackberry Hub for all your messages in one central location. The quality of the phone is awesome , as to its feel and visually it is awesome.
I find that I simply do not like the keyboard and believe me I have tried. It is just to small for me. My phone becomes uncomfortably hot and quickly at times. To me, the battery life is not up to par. I am at 62%, in less than 4 hours of light use and it does not have quick charge abilities. Lastly, the notification ringtone volume is the same as the call volume and that is overly annoying. I receive a ton of emails and texts through out the day and I like to have the ability to to mute the notifications and still have the volume up if I receive a call.. missed several calls yesterday before I realized what happened.

Not enough OS10 features
on April 17, 2016

First huge problem that other BlackBerry phones don't have, email or browse the Web while talking on the phone. That feature was standard on all BlackBerry phones. In other words, no data service while talking on the phone. That's huge disservice to Blackberry locals. The BlackBerry Hub is very weak and emails disappear on their own. No way I can trust my work to the PRIV. I own a business so multi communication is essential. Luckily I still have my workhorse of a phone the BlackBerry Passport. May look odd in shape but it kills any phone instantly when getting work done. I really hope BlackBerry continues making new phone models with OS10 and the Android based phones are there for other people who care more about having fun than making money.

Great Phone -- But Enterprise (Work) Warnings
on January 25, 2016
Posted by: steveinOC
Long-term Blackberry user here...have had all the phones over the years -- but buy beware on Enterprise (work) email connections -- there's a bug or update needed on your work servers to enable email connections. So, I would advise that you consult your IT group before purchasing....

So far this phone is better than any Apple product by far. A few things that bring it to only 4 stars is that the keyboard is not intuitive so you have to type every letter instead of being give word choices which slows down typing. Also the picture editing features are not even close to as good as on my Samsung. Since I take a lot of photos I wish I had known that as even with the drawbacks of my Samsung overheating constantly I preferred those features above what BlackBerry has to offer. Sometimes my BlackBerry overheats too, especially if the battery is low.

Bring Back Blackberry IOS

As a Blackberry user of 20 years, I was sorely disappointed to learn of the demise of the BB IOS and Rim's alignment with Android. The effort was a lesson in what happens when you reverse engineer a silk purse from a cow's ear
