loud, slow, huge...bangs against your teeth. broke down in less than a month. We used the Xtreme series for years. won't buy this again.
Pros: no charger needed
Cons: cons are too numerous to mention, don't buy this.

Very bad product design. Brush head is too small and base is too bulky. Hard to use. Has the power of a small nuclear weapon, crashes into teeth when you shift sides. Apparently nobody tests Sonicare products before putting them out for sale.
Pros: none
Cons: several - see review

My old Sonicare with batteries eventually died, so I tried replacing it with this one because it's battery operated. The vibration is so hard and so loud it feels like an earthquake erupting inside my mouth. It's so horribly harsh inside my mouth, crashing against my teeth, that I rarely use it and am so disappointed that I replaced my old Sonicare with this junk. I should have spent more money on a better one. I am buying another Sonicare, but stay away from this cheap model!
Pros: battery operated so good for travel
Cons: vibration is really hard, vibration crashes horribly on my teeth, really loud

Hi, we’re sorry for the difficulty you are facing with our Philips Sonicare. Our brushes are designed to work in your mouth without too much effort on your part.
To use: 1. Wet the bristles and apply a small amount of toothpaste. 2. Place the toothbrush bristles against the teeth at a slight angle towards the gumline. 3. Press the power on/off button to turn on the Sonicare. 4. Apply light pressure to maximize Sonicare’s effectiveness and let the Sonicare toothbrush do the brushing for you. 5. Gently move the brush head slowly across the teeth in a small back and forth motion so the longer bristles reach between your teeth. 6. Continue this motion throughout your brushing cycle.
Tips for use: Before switching the toothbrush on, place the bristles of the brush head on your gum line at a 45-degree angle.
1. Close your mouth as much as needed to prevent toothpaste splattering. Turn the brush on. 2. Hold the handle with a light grip. Do not grip the handle, but hold in gently at the edges. Switch the toothbrush on, and glide the brush across your teeth, gently, allowing the brush to do the work. 3. To maximize effectiveness apply only light pressure and let the toothbrush do the brushing for you. 4. Do not scrub. 5. To make sure you brush evenly throughout the mouth, divide your mouth into 4 sections using the Quadpacer feature.
If the problem still persists we would request you to contact our Consumer Care team at 1 800 682 7664. Monday - Saturday 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM EST, Sunday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST, excluding major holidays. Thanks.
This is the best powered toothbrush I have used. My teeth and tongue really feel clean after use.

Good idea, bad product

My dentist recommended I use a battery/electric toothbrush and mentioned this model as one to consider. I picked this one at the store but I will be returning it. The plastic part of the head bashes against your teeth HARD and is very uncomfortable. It is not a subtle vibration at all, its vibrates like a freaking power tool. Its like brushing your teeth with a reciprocating saw. Also, the vibration pattern causes me to become dizzy instantly. I think its vibrating the fluid in my inner ear and giving me vertigo. This is nothing but torture.
Cons: vibrates very rough like a reciprocating saw

It works great!! Took a few uses for me to get used to how to hold my mouth open so it didn't bang against my other teeth...but the clean is awesome and after 5 months it's still running strong.
Pros: low cost, easy to use, cleans well
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does not clean like other Sonicare models

Avoid the 15,000 strokes/min models. Heavy vibrations and it does not clean near as well as other Sonicare models that have 31,000 strokes/min. Disappointed.
