Hot coffee longer at last

Used one that was in a vacation rental last month and loved it. Bought it on the Mr Coffee website and am very happy with it. The coffee stays HOT for at least 2 hours (it was gone at 2 hours or could have been longer)

Makes a mess

I bought this 12/20/2015, it has had a problem with a lever that the carafe pushed on and opens the valve on the filter basket. the lever mover, and does not open the filter basket, so water and coffee and grounds comes out everywhere
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This coffeemaker is the best coffeemaker I've ever had! Not only can you set it to brew at a certain time but the machine tells you how much coffee is left in the carafe and how long the coffee has been sitting there! Fabulous!! It looks great on my counter. I also love the feature for the filter. You no longer have to try to remember when you last changed the filter because they have a built in marker to remind you every time you put your grounds in! I was given this coffeemaker as a sample to review and it gets the highest stars I've ever given to a product that I'm reviewing! 5 stars!

I actually gave this item this item two stars purely because it is a great looking coffee maker. It looks really nice sitting on your counter top. However, this is where the positives end for me. I've had this product for less than a week, and now I already have a different one purchased. This is due to the fact that if you like your coffee more than barely warm, you'll need a different product. This thermal brewed coffee concept needs to be rethought. I couldn't believe when ten minutes after brewing I poured a cup and had to put it in the microwave. The carafe must not hold heat as well as claimed or it just never brews very hot. Overall, looks nice if you want something to look at, poor decision at best if you want to make coffee. Way too expensive for a inferior coffee maker!!
UPDATE: I changed to a 1 star! This thing is absolute garbage!! I'm trying to use this thing till my new coffee maker arrives, and it is falling apart! Less than 10 pots in, after brewing a pot, while carrying the filter basket to the garbage, the handle falls off! Grounds everywhere!! Couple pots later the spring for the brewing pause while you pull the carafe out to grab a cup fell apart. The machine is now essentially rendered useless. I couldn't even limp it along till my new maker arrived!!! JUNK!!!

large and wonderful

This brewer was an upgrade from the next smaller version of this same unit. We loved the other one but we needed a larger capacity brewer. This is a terrific coffee maker.Keeps our coffee very hot for longer than most. If I had on complaint it would be the water container cover, it just isn't as handy as when it was connected to the unit. This one is removable. Not a large deal. This is the best coffee brewer ever.

My 10 cup version of this wen t on the blitz after 3 years (wouldn't cycle of the the cleaning button) so went got the new 12 cup...needless to say I'm about to lose it! 30 minutes of messing it with it so the start button will stop flashing and beeping ...and still no coffee! I took the reservoir a gazillion time, same as the basket...unplugged and plugged back in....still BEEPING!!!!!! What a stupid feature....all these "safety" whistles just makes it more aggravating...needless to say the darn thing is going back! Back to my back up french press

Disappointed

We had high hopes for this machine. We love our morning coffee and only buy high quality coffee and grind it fresh daily and make it strong. We have always used Mr. Coffee machines and have had good results with them. We were looking to improve our coffee with this machine. The first day the pause feature didn't work and poured coffee all over the counter, after we cleaned up the mess we had the remaining coffee which was OK but not noticeably better than our last machine. The next 2 days the coffee was very weak and not very hot. We will return this machine back to the point of purchase and go back to our $10 coffee maker.

Upon receiving the Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew, I was very eager to use it. I was really looking forward to trying the delay-brew feature and waking up to fresh, hot coffee. However, I was disappointed to find that the coffee really doesn't stay hot in the thermal pot more than 30 minutes. I also didn't really detect any major distinction in the flavor versus coffee brewed in a standard coffee maker. The design is modern, but a bit bulky. The compartment with the brew basket is a bit of a hassle. Overall, I'm not going to say this is a great buy. I received this as a sample to test, but I wouldn't purchase it myself.
