Bought to Replace a Krups Cup on Request Machine

Agree with the first reviewer (Dr Ed), on almost every point! Fast brewing is definitely a plus for us, yes the filter basket does not stay level on the counter surface, and we also found the coffee weaker than our previous machine and did increase the coffee grounds used by 2 level scoops, for a 12-cup pot, over what we used in the other machine. We've only had this Mr Coffee for a couple of weeks, but we use it once daily during the weekdays. We use stainless steel travel mugs and one briefcase thermos to transport our coffee to our jobs, and we "pre-heat" them before pouring in the coffee from the carafe. Since we use the delayed brew feature, the carafe itself has not been pre-heated. That's normally around 6:30am, and the coffee has stayed "drinkably hot" til all is consumed by 10:00am or so. During the weekends we go through 2-3 12-cup carafes each day between the two of us, so in both cases we don't have the coffee in the carafe long enough to judge how long the carafe might hold the temperature of the coffee inside before feeling a need to reheat via microwave. Neither of us are sure about this "light bar technology" as a fill indicator, as Dr Ed mentioned - you have to be in just the right light to make use of it, and in any case, the plastic sticks seem more gimmicky than technological, and we could do without them.
Overall, nice machine, fast, hot coffee, easy to fill and clean.

Great Coffee Maker! Very Easy To Use!

This machine is very easy to use, and the carafe kept my coffee hot for over 6 hours!.
I especially liked the feature that allows you to pour a cup of coffee before the whole pot is finished brewing. I had one small issue with the carafe. At the separation between the metal and black pieces i started to notice some leaking when i brewed a full pot. That issue did not repeat when i would make an 8 or 10 cup pot.

I recieved this product as a sample to review, however i believe it is a great value for its cost.

Love my Thermal Coffee Maker!

I chose this coffee maker because I don't like reheated coffee, and I really hit the jackpot. It is sleek and looks good on my counter, where it is proudly ensconced. This coffee maker system keeps the coffee at the perfect temperature for a long time. There is a 2 hour timer that notifies you, but the coffee is hot much longer 2 hours. Love the fact that it can be set up so that my coffee greets me in the morning.
My only complaint is that the water filter that lasts a month and sits above the coffee grounds is not easy for me to find locally, and had to be ordered. I read the reviews, and kept the packaging in case it stopped working, but I haven't had a problem after 2 months. I wonder if they didn't accidentally run it without water in the reservoir, which is what killed my former coffee pot.

Delicious Coffee, flimsy reservoir

This was my first Mr. Coffee and it is impressive to look at it. Shiny and high tech by appearance, it functions just as any other coffee maker does, or at least one can operate it in the same fashion. It professes to do a great many things that other coffee makers don't but for the most part, I have yet to take advantage of these additional options. The water reservoir is slightly flimsy and it's lid doesn't always snap on immediately. Other than that, it makes great coffee and quickly. It has a water filter that removes chlorine from the water, that will need replacing at some point. It also soaks the the grounds for thirty seconds before brewing, which supposedly makes the coffee taste better. It has saved me a great deal of money.

I received this Mr. Coffee product as a sample to review and I am so glad I was chosen!! The set-up for the Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew was easy and I made a great cup of coffee from the start. I really enjoy preparing my coffee the night before using the "delay brew" option and having it ready for me when I get up in the morning. What a great brewing system!!

Beautiful countertop coffee maker

The Mr. Coffee 10 cup Optimal Brew coffee maker has its positives and negatives. On the positive side, this is a beautiful machine, the style is a far better look than the Mr. Coffee's of old. the stainless steel design keeps it from being an eyesore on my kitchen counter. The digital display is very clean and easy to use. After some practice, it makes some pretty darn good coffee too. after all that's what this is really about. On the negative side, It did take some trial and error finding a good coffee to water ratio. The coffee dock is pretty much a pain to clean and I'm usually clueless as to how much coffee is left. there is a display on the pot itself but is so difficult to read. Full disclosure, I did receive this product as a sample for review, and overall I say this is a very good coffee maker, and I am pleased with it.

Don't waste you money

I bought my coffee maker in late October 2016 because of the thermal carafe. However it has developed many different problems due to its poor design. The water reservoir does not easily sit into its site and when full can be easily spilled. If a carbon water filter is not used the coffee grounds will float and make a mess of the interior. While it is advertised as a 12 cup, you can only make 10 without having a water backup because the basket will not drain as fast as the water enters. Almost from the first, the coffee makers emits a large amount of steam from the back of the machine that can discolor overhead cabinets. The carafe is not worth the trouble it takes to make a pot of coffee--especially now that the carafe has started to leak while pouring.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Brew Basket Overflow

Purchases a few months ago, and had the same problem over and over. The brew basket overflows and end up with coffee grounds in the pot and all over the counter. I have cleaned the brew basket several times, and the spring devise gets clogged up, thus giving this mess. I will attempt to call customer service for replacement and if that does not work, I will return the item for full refund. Used Mr. Coffee for very long time, and this is disappointing in the premium brewer performance!
