Makes good coffee. Keeps coffee hot for several hours. The carafe lid part which is supposed to show how full the carafe isn't needed. The weight of the carafe is sufficient.

Solid coffeemaker, Ditch the water filtration disk

Makes great coffee! The thermal carafe keeps coffee hot for many hours. I only have one complaint - using the water filtration disk causes the coffee grounds to overflow into the basket holder, and therefore into the carafe with the coffee (what a mess). I got around this by removing the disk and frame completely. I now just use filtered water in my coffeemaker instead of paying extra for those disks.

It does make and keep the coffee piping hot! The water filtration disk is an optional accessory. It should not have caused the grounds to overflow into the basket and we'll be glad to remedy that for you. Please give us a call at (800) 672-6333 so that we can assist you directly. I have bought two of these and both of them have leaked while brewing the coffee so I get coffee all over my counter.
