Water leak from bottom

I bought Mr.Coffee Expresso & Cappucinno maker less than year ago. Several months ago noticed water underneath the unit. Water tray was cleaned regularly. Several days ago it started leaking badly over the counter. I stopped using the unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice machine, but problems after a year and a half

Bought last May and it worked fine for about ten months, butbthen started producing way too much steam pressure in the frothier. Followed the suggestion and tried cleaning, but it didn't help. I've always used purified water straight from the Britta, so I don't know why it would be an issue with scaling...

Good espresso machine, bad milk frother

I've had this machine for almost a year. The espresso part works great, it makes great espresso and easy to use. The milk frother however I have had difficulties with ever since I bought it. Sometimes it froths the milk just fine, sometimes the pressure is too low and it barely makes any foam, and sometimes the pressure is too high and it make huge bubbles that over overflow the container. It seems to be kind of random whether it will be too much or too little and has always been inconsistent. I read a lot of reviews about it leaking and I did not have that problem until about a month ago. The gasket on the bottom came loose and it leaks all over the counter (I have it in a pan now to contain the water). And then last week the frother got so much worse. Barely any pressure comes out anymore and it is louder than it used to be.
I am giving it four stars because it was a good price for the product and has lasted for almost a year. The espresso part works great and I think that will keep working just fine. The milk frother and the leaking are the things I am disappointed with.

I love everything about this espresso maker. If you read the instructions, it will froth milk perfectly and make perfect espresso. The lights only flash if I forget to turn it off and try to use it between cups.

There is a learning curve to use the machine
on January 19, 2018

First, the coffee it makes after learning how to use it, tastes much better than my old drip coffee maker. We started with our same coffee we have been using. no brand name, but the taste difference is amazing. Now the Learning part. first you need to prime the pump before making coffee. Some people think the coffee filter is supposed to be like a metal screen cup for the coffee to drip out. The coffee does not go into the scoop looking filter holder, It goes into 1 of the round metal filters that look like it does not have any holes. if you look closely it is a 2piece stamped filter with 1 side that has what looks like fine pinholes with the bottom side that looks smooth with no holes but has 1. the coffee is forced thru the screen and out the 1 hole into the scoop filter holder which has 2 holes as you see in pictures for each cup.
The machine is manual you have to watch it as it makes your cup or 2.
the picture shows 2 cups under the machine. 1 regular sized mug will fit under the filter for both holes.
Can you make reg. american coffee yes because you control how much water to let run thru the coffee which will make it less espresso more americano.
IMPORTANT, all pictures of the this machine show the filter scoop sticking straight out from the machine when it is locked and ready to make coffee. it does not have to be like that to lock the scoop into place. put the scoop under and into position and then turn until you meet resistance, which in most case will be before the handle is perpendicular to the machine.
After learning how to use it, you will like the coffee it makes. Now how long it will last is another question.

With experience anyone can be a great barista at creating decadent espresso drinks. We recommend though that the filter holder is used in the locked position as shown in the manual, perpendicular the the espresso maker. The machine contents are under pressure and we want the machine used correctly to avoid accidents.

We're glad to hear you are enjoying and getting the most out of your espresso maker!

Long lasting, makes good coffee, minor issues...

Pro Tip: read the instructions. This doesn't use espresso-ground coffee. It uses drip-ground coffee. If you use fine-ground coffee in the basket, you'll clog it completely in just a few uses.
The coffee basket is stainless, which is a must, but it's also double-walled, which causes some clogging when it takes on oils and small particles. I've had to fire it to get the crud to burn out. But that saves on the costs of ordering another basket. Unsifted larger-ground coffee still has small grains which WILL get stuck in the basket. You can find youtube videos on how to clean it if this happens. Also, always use distilled water in the machine. There's zero scale buildup on my machine.
The steam nozzle is junk. If you really want that, pick another model. I make cold coffee, mostly, so I don't need the steam, but it would be nice to have in the winter.
The water reservoir leaks often. I suspect this is at the contact point where it slips onto the machine. I get around it. Not life or death. Just annoying.
The cup that holds the coffee basket appears to be stainless, but it's not. Over time, the coating wears off and you can see it's some kind of galvanized substance and rusts white after every use. This is very annoying. Coupled with the fact that the cup is lined with a rubber part that can collect residue, it makes full cleaning very difficult.
After almost a decade, the pump and heating element are still kicking. This part is actually amazing.
I got it on sale for I think $79.99. Based on that, and the life-time, I say this model is spectacular. Can't beat that with any other home model I've seen.

I love this pump espresso maker. I remove the plastic parts on the steamer and coffee basket. I then have a very high quality espresso maker. It makes great steam
