Buyer beware; 40% chance of 0 stars

From our experience and from searching for reviews from others, you are gambling with this often excellent machine. Out of 5 separate machines, we have only been lucky 3 times. It is either totally unusable immediately or it produces excellent coffee at a reasonable price for about 2 to 3 years, and then it dies. All in all, it is still more cost effective than wasting 400 or 4000 dollars on other machines that do less for anywhere from 5 to 50 times the cost.

Stopped working after 6 months

I bought this machine online in Walmart.com on October 5th, 2015. Today, April 18, 2016 when I came home to make my afternoon coffee, the machine just didn't work. I tried another electrical outlet thinking the problem was that, didn't work either. I ended up brewing my coffee with a regular filter coffee maker I had sitting on my cupboard. Luckily I had purchased a replacement plan and Walmart is going to return me the money. I really liked the way the coffee brewed by this espresso machine. I always looked forward to have my morning and afternoon espresso, I just don't know why the machine stopped working.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Defective Too

Bought this yesterday and the filter holder won't turn to lock unless my very strong husband wraps one arm around the machine and forces the basket on. Then it requires the same force to remove it. It is unreasonable to think this in not a defect. It is the second Mr. Coffee espresso machine, two different models, in two days that is defective. My husband is stressed because he wanted to be nice to me and all it has done is frustrate me and cause him to standing in the return line.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love this machine!

I've had this model over 5 years and I love it. It was a Christmas gift from my husband and I've gotten more that it's worth out of this machine. Now I may need to replace it and I want this one again. Only complaint I have is it's a little loud but I have nothing to compare it to. Excellent machine.

Great machine

I bought this after my Keurig broke and I am very happy with it! It makes a good strong cup of espresso and gets the milk nice and hot!!! You can use whatever coffee you like and don't need K-cups which is wonderful. I wish it came with a decanter and a frothing pitcher though!!!

Surprisingly Good!

I purchased this machine a month ago for a quick cheap temporary replacement to a $600 machine that died. WOW, what a surprise. This Mr. Coffee is no piece of junk. The build quality is great for the money and there are no weaknesses. The pump has all the pressure you need. Even with most micro-grinds like Illy, you still get a perfect flow and crema. The portafilter is of the pressurized type and performs flawlessly. These machines are the espresso bargain of the century. A great starter machine and even good for the expert. I am totally satisfied and am still amazed with it! Definite "Best Buy".

There is always a leak

I have owned 5 of this model. The coffee is great, excellent, for the cheap price you get a better coffee thank from a 760-1,000 machine. But, always, always, there is a leak. This is an old problem they have never solved.
