Stopped working after 1st time

I was really impressed when I made the first pitcher of tea. I went back later to make another and it won't even turn on or do anything!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love this tea maker...it is the best product I have bought for making tea. I use this tea maker a lot and love the way it brews my tea.
I recommend it to anyone that loves to drink a "cold tall glass of tea" on a hot summer day.

Best Hot or Cold Tea Maker Out There!

I'm tickled pink that I can get multiple pitchers. I've had my machine for almost a year now & the original pitcher is intact. I make my hot tea in it instead of the other [Zarafina and Cuisinart (coffee)] makers because it is such an awesome design. I plan to buy 2 more machines as well... will line them up on the kitchen counter! Perhaps those the experience breakage should transfer the tea to another container for moving it in an out of the fridge. Another alternative is simply to find a container that lines up with the output and holds enough liquid - that's it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Machine Awful Pitcher

I own one of these as does my mother. In the course of a year and a half, I have broken one pitcher while my mother has broken three. Only one of those pitchers broke because it was hit against something (the side of the sink). The pitcher has broken dropping ice cubes into it. The pitcher has broken pouring ice cubes into it gently down the side as it was tilted at an angle (so the bottom of the pitcher wouldn't break by simply dropping ice into it)! There just doesn't seem to be a safe way to handle this pitcher. I would agree with a previous reviewer who suggests that the glass of the pitcher is weakened when hot water pours into it while it has ice in it. Major design flaw.

Did someone not think about this

I purchased this ice tea maker about 4 weeks ago. I am happy with everything except one thing. The top falls off when pouring into a glass. You have to be very carefulol or you'll have ice tea all over the place

I've had my Tea Maker for about two months now and am very pleased with it. While it brews the tea nicely there are some problems that other people have noted.
1. The pitcher is thin and fragile glass that can break easily BUT if you follow the cleaning and breaking instruction included with the machine then it should last. People who's pitchers broke most likely machine washed, banged the glass, or didn't brew properly which caused the break.
2. The machine lid is a bit flimsy, mine snapped of in the first week, but it still sits on top just fine.
All in all its a good brewer for the price in a market that doesn't have enough brewers in them, just be sure to treat it gently.

Glass pitcher, as noted by others, is worthless

Reviews indicated the glass pitcher was easily broken, so we ordered TWO. We tried to be extremely careful, but it broke on the fourth brewing of tea and created a huge mess. The 2nd pot is just like the 1st. From the beginning you need to plan on brewing your tea into a pot that is not sensitive to the temperature change that occurs as the hot brewing tea melts the ice in the glass pitcher (the instructions are to fill the pitcher partially with ice and let the brewing tea flow over the ice). We now have a plastic pitcher,
