Needs improvement, works great

This seems to be the best iced tea maker that I found. It does have a few issues. A stop drip capability so that you can pull the pitcher while it still brews would be nice, like a coffee maker. Also, the tea bin should be a good bit larger so that sugar can be put in with the tea. Putting the sugar in the pitcher with the ice doesn't allow it to be completely absorbed by the tea. There should also be a model offered with a plastic pitcher that can be used to brew 2 quarts of tea, without the need for ice. Having to use ice to prevent the glass pitcher from breaking has me going through a lot of ice. I prefer to brew with 2 quarts of water into a pitcher and put it in the refrigerator. I then drink it straight or over ice by the glass. Finally, why did they design the unit to make 2.5 quarts of tea when large tea bags are set up for 1 quart (2 bags for a 2-quart pitcher)? I just bought another unit with another pitcher for a friend. It does a good job at a good price and makes brewing tea easy.
Love this tea maker. It makes great tea and is easy to use. Only issue I have with it is that the lid is kind of loose on top the picture and moves like it's going to fall out when pouring. It should be a tighter fit there.
I ordered the Mr. Coffee Iced Tea maker. It arrived and the water did not come out and then it shut off. They sent another one and this time it did the same thing only the tea come out in the water measuring trough. We are sending it back also. We gave up. I have always had excellent products from Mr. Coffee but this one just didn't work out.

WASTED PURCHASE

Purchased this new model Mr. Coffee tea maker and only used maybe 12 times and it quit working. I had bought several of the old models over the years and they lasted for years and were used heavily. Decided what I thought would be an upgrade since it costs twice as much and I had cut back on tea consumption. What a waste of money!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love it....hate it

We bought this and really liked it the first few weeks....then it starts shutting off and we have to keep punching it every 10-20 seconds until its done. I've read that other people are having the same problem. Soooooo annoying I want to throw it in the trash but would prefer a replacement instead....

Glass carafe breaks and cannot be replaced

Bought this for work a few months ago and while it does make great tea, the carafe is way too fragile. It cracked while being gently washed and Mr. Coffee does not offer a replacement. Fatal flaw as far as I ma concerned. Absolutely would not recommend!
