I bought this for my mother for Christmas and she loved it! She was skeptical at first because she had something similar years ago that was disappointing, but this really delivered. The glass picture was a welcomed feature and even thought it was 0.5qts smaller, the simplicity in making tea made up for that.
Only con though is that the lid does not fit very securely. When you pour a pitcher, the lid tends to fall out and is only useful when brewing.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Low capacity. Too-fragile pitcher.

I have brewed maybe four times with this product, and it is easy to use and seems to work well. My two main complaints are that the capacity is pretty low and the pitcher is unbelievably fragile. It’s also *very* noisy while brewing, especially toward the end of the cycle. Regarding the pitcher, mine has already developed some small cracks in the handle, and I am now afraid to even pick it up when it’s full, for fear that the handle will break off. I have read many product reviews that also complained about the picture easily breaking. It’s nice to have an elegant glass pitcher, but this one seems almost dangerous to use — it’s a lacerated hand or ruined dishwasher waiting to happen. I would gladly pay an extra $10 for a sturdy pitcher. Regarding the capacity, I would prefer to brew about twice the quantity each time, as I am a frequent iced tea drinker.

Really efficient and looks nice on the countertop

I previously had been using the other basket system (teal/blue) and used loose tea and coffee filter. Putting ~1/4 cup of loose tea or 2 family tea bags for a strong tea (there is no strength adjustment on the old unit)
When I purchased this unit, I am finding that 1/4 cup is way too much.
1. I have the slide set to strong (which makes the tea the way I like)
2. With 1/4 cup loose tea the tea leafs over flow the basket
Also I found that 1/4 cup would make the tea too strong plus overflow the basket
3. I reduce now down to ~1/8 cup loose tea or 1 family tea bag
I am considering going to the use of family tea bags so that the clean-up is not so messy... with having to empty and rinse the provided filter.... and then sometimes the loose tea seems to float out of the small filter basket.
*** I have read that the gray water tank input area can get tea stains so
I like to have the basket dry before sliding it back over to store
*** I wish the glass pitcher was thicker glass.. it feels very delecate EZ to break

Glass pitcher too thin

Made 3 pots of tea with this thing & the bottom shattered this morning when getting ready to make the 4th pot. Machine works great, but the pitcher glass is lousy & thin. Replacement pitcher costs twice as much as the whole tea maker did. Will not be buying anymore of this company's products.
