Efficient, quiet, good range of features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had it for about 6 weeks and have pretty much used every setting with predictable and expected results: all good. The spin cycle can be noisier with small loads but otherwise the routine operation is quiet. I like the clarity of the controls and the spin dial is easy to use. The build is solid.

Great washer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all, I wish the "Good" rating was "Great". I had to knock off a star, only because it's not perfect, but this doesn't mean it's just "good".
For reference, I'm coming from a 15 year old front loader that has been falling apart for years. The EFLS517SIW is a great upgrade and I'm super happy with it. I love the size of the drum; it's so much larger than my old washer and I can fit a ridiculous amount of clothes in there. This machine is relatively quiet, and best of all, it doesn't dance across the floor during the spin cycle. The large digital display on the dial is bright and easy to read, and the controls are intuitive.
Imperfections? Sure, but what doesn't have them? A couple of things I'd like to see change for the next model would be the rubber drum seal and the touch buttons. The drum seal should be manually dried after each wash with a cloth. Not a big deal, but it's kind of a hassle to pull back the top flap to get in there. Seems like it should be wide open - I'm fairly certain I've seen other models designed this way. Second, the touch buttons aren't terribly responsive. It takes the right amount of "tap" or pressure to get them right. Don't expect them to behave like a phone screen - they're not that sensitive. And because there can be a slight lag between pushing the button and the action, sometimes it's easy to think it hasn't been pushed.
The overall build quality of this washer (and the accompanying dryer) are top notch. My first instinct was to buy one of the other big brands, but I'm glad I went with the Elecrolux.

Excellent Cleaning

However, after confirming with other sources online, it appears that this is the new way of cleaning (clothes are not agitating in dirty water I guess). And I have to say that the clothes are coming out really clean. I've been really happy with this new washer. It is a little louder than I expected, but it is in a laundry closet, so it doesn't really bother us.
