Fast and Clean!

The washer has settings for stains or quick wash and it performs better than expected. We have five children and use our machine day in and day out.. It performs tirelessly.

Not only does it cover the basics with aplomb, as you would expect, but it has additional features that have changed the way I manage laundry. Example: I found the sanitize cycle just perfect for really cleaning housekeeping rags. Fits all the bedding from a Cal King bed with ease. And super quiet...the only way I remember it is running is when I hear the end of cycle timer. I purchased the stacking kit, and both the washer and the dryer model EFMG517SIW fit nicely in an upstairs closet. Such an improvement over my Kenmore stacking set, in features, capacity, quality and ease of use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Lacking features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this set because the salesman gave it the highest ratings. We are so disappointed that there is no way to lock the settings while the machine is on, and if a kiddo happens to shut the machine off while it is washing, there is no way to know if it actually finished, or was just shut off. Our old set (a different brand) has both of these features and we miss them!!
We also have a lot of fabric remnants remaining in our washer after washing on heavy duty. I’m not so sure our fabrics are going to hold up very long
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Les5, I am dismayed that you are dissatisfied with the design of your washer. To lock the controls between cycles, scroll to the lock option and press set. The lock icon will be displayed on the panel. To unlock the controls scroll to the lock option and press set. Use this feature to reduce the likelihood of accidental operation by children (page 14 in your Owner’s Manual). The heavy duty cycle should be used for heavily soiled, durable heavy weight garments - ex. towels, sports gear, or fabric tote bags. So much more than I expected!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased the set almost 2 months ago. Hooked them up easy as can be. First washer had an issue ( but I have a feeling it was due to delivery people ) I missed my front loaders, I will never purchase a top loader again. The machines are so quiet and I love all the different settings. Especially the quick wash! That has saved me a couple times. I haven't tried the steam clean yet, but when I do I will add more to my review. I also love that I can switch the doors to open the way that's best in my laundry room. Over all A GREAT INVESTMENT.
