Well designed machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a mechanical engineer and software designer. I like intuitive interfaces and solid/reliable operation. This machines satisfies those requirements at an excellent value price point. The re-circulation of the wash water via the pump allows the use of less soap, less water and consistent/better wash results. This re-circulation feature is only available from Electrolux, you can't get it from any other manufacturer at any price. It is much more important than the steam option which I consider a gimmick.

door will not unlock and drain unplugged too

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Yikes! I am distressed to hear of your washer woes, roereset. If the water level in the drum is above the bottom of the door opening/flexible door gasket, the lock will not release. Please do not force open the door. If water is not draining: the drain hose might be kinked or clogged. The drain hose standpipe may be taller that the maximum height of 8’. The house drain pipes could be clogged. They are loaded with great features and my family and I see a big difference for the better in the way our clothes are being "pampered" with these appliances! They are quiet, beyond efficient and top quality....not to mention beautiful to look at! Look no further if you're in the market for a washer and dryer...Electrolux is hands down the very best!
