A long time devotee of this brand, there are others but this is the one and only, after many years my motor is strong and perfect but the container was "foggy" and part of the base cracked, practical Vitamix sells replacement canisters making it affordable to continue to use a wonderful product. My caution to self, this wider shorter canister is so much easier to use but when washing, my fingers easily get close to the sharp blade...beware. We are enjoying this dependable product for our smoothies every day. Thank you.
I bought my Vitamix 9 years ago and this size wasn’t available. I love it because it’s a perfect size- it’s in between the 32oz and 64oz containers that I own. It also fits under the counter.
I have 4 Vitamix containers. I have been buying them from Texas to California to Oregon and now in Tennessee. Some I have had for over 20 years, and I have enjoyed the luxury of using them all.The value, quality, ease of use all get 5 star ratings. I would recommend any of these products to others who are interested in adding a new flair to your cooking..."kicking it up another notch", as Emeril would say! I like the 48 ounce right now because I am cooking for one person. This is a great in-between size to take care of most of the recipes I am making now. It still works as well as the larger Vitamixes. Something else I like about the 48 ounce container is that it will fit under my cabinets. It's nice to come into the kitchen in the mornings to fix my breakfast shake, and the Vitamix is already there on my counter waiting for me !! But I appreciate all of my Vitamixes. They are wonderful. The next one that I would like to have is the AER machine.

Retired Tritan container after 5 years

I received my 48 ounce container for the 5200 model in 2016. (The 5200 base unit had received occasional use from 2013-2015 with the 64 ounce container.) This 48 ounce container has a three year warranty. Prior to 2018, I used it several times a week, by which time it was discolored by the ribs after many mocha frappes. Beginning in 2018, I adopted a healthier diet. It received daily use in 2018-2019, and in the past year, I have used it 3-4 times per day for smoothies, shakes, supplement drinks, soups, spicy hot cocoa with homemade hempseed milk, gluten-free sweet potato bread dough, and beautifully emulsified salad dressings. Above the ribs, on the round 1/3 inside top of the container, I could no longer remove cocoa stains, even with scrubbing. I finally wore this container out. In the last two weeks, it didn’t spray from the top, but leaked slightly underneath at the bottom, and when cleaning the bottom outside of the container, I would discolor my dishcloth with a black substance that looked like the rubber bottom. So, if you buy a Tritan container, it won’t remain pretty, but it may well last longer than its guaranteed life. I hope this review gives someone an idea of how to budget for a replacement blender container. If looks are important, plan to replace it at least every two years. But If product utility and longevity is important, consider making a line item in your budget for a 54-60 month replacement schedule. As the base unit still works well, I upgraded to a stainless steel container which I received today, March 1, 2021. RIP, Tritan 48. (BTW, my 64 ounce container is still useful for larger blends, or for the very occasional batch of frozen margaritas, and for puréeing hot soups made in my Dutch oven. It is still pretty, but it spends most of its time in a cabinet). I am on a special diet, and I usually cook for one to two servings, unless I choose to refrigerate salad dressings or freeze meals for later.
Pros: Texture Quality, Durability, Easy to use, Versatility, Recipe Enhancement, Power
The container is great way overpriced but if you need it not another choice. The only issue would be that it could form a better fit on the base and adjustment on the impeller shaft
I am happy with my Vitamix. Very expensive though.

Purchased to make smaller quantities. This is perfect for my countertop in that it goes under a cabinet. Can make double or single smoothies. Great for pint size of nut butter.
Seems to function fine. Materials look to be of good quality. The overall cost of the item is very high. This was a replacement part for the original container that cracked and seems overpriced for what it is. Seems a lot to pay for a replacement part.
