I've had a Vitamix and used it almost daily for 15 years. I've used the 32 and 64 oz. containers until now. The 48 oz. is wider that the 32oz. which might be what causes the blending to be so effective. In making smoothies, I like to add the nuts for 5 seconds at the end. With the 48 oz., I usually have a good vortex down the middle on a setting of 1. With the 32 oz it was about 3 and I had to play with it to get a good one. This company is always making a good product better.
