The size of the container is perfect. The container is just not as nice as the original container that came with the blender. Pouring thicker drinks is very difficult, the spout is square instead of rounded like the original container, it makes a mess. The center piece of the lid is deeper than the original so when running the blender with soap and water to clean, the soap and water does not reach this portion like the original container, therefore hand cleaning is necessary. I do like the gray rubber material the top is made of over the original, it is easier to wipe down and clean and liquid repels off it very easy. I do wish they would have kept the handle made of rubber, this plastic handle is very slippery.
This container is the perfect size. I love the height of this container because I am on the short size and this height is not as high as the regular one. It holds all I need to for a one-person drink or soup use. I love it!
Got a great deal on the 48-ounce container on Black Friday! This is the perfect container for most people as the the giant 64-ounce container is simply too big. Most people don't make smoothies, etc. that are more than 24-32 ounces so this is why I think the 48-ounce container hits a sweet spot. Plus, when it's on the base, it can be stored on the counter fitting perfectly under the cupboards taking up less counter space! It's a must have!
I bought this a month ago and LOVE it! My original container was double the size and this works much better for me when making my daily shakes. Plus it isn't as loud when mixing, which my husband appreciates!
I've had my vitamin for 20+ years and love it. I started making delicious a healthy muffins with chia seeds, zucchini and cocoa powder. The chia seeds are pulverized and the batter is smooth as silk! But scooping it out of my tall container was difficult. This size and shape has made it so much easier to access all the batter and get those yummy cupcakes in the oven!
Have had my blender for 6 years. I purchased this container 1 month ago so it would fit on my base on the countertop. I do like the smaller size that is just right for our daily protein shakes. My biggest complaint is the same as many others, the container is so pretty when it is new, but quickly becomes cloudy and unsightly. In our state, we have very hard water, and if you don't dry every speck of water off immediately, it shows water spots that over time cannot be removed. I try to dry it daily, but sadly, if you are in a rush to get to work and can only rinse it and leave it to air dry, you pay the price. Also, this one has an open top handle which cannot be dried out and even if the rest is still pretty good, the handle has the water spots. I have figured out how to get it dry using a spoon handle and a napkin, but honestly, who has time to go through that process daily? The other complaint is the handle feels flimsy, probably because it is hollow and open on top. It feels like over time, it might actually break with repeated uses. The larger original container has a silicone handle that has a much sturdier feel. Why make it different? Lastly, why can't the container be made with glass? I did read the website's reason that they haven't found a suitable material that meets their standards, but still can't understand why glass wouldn't work on these high power machines. My guess is that the risk of accidental breakage due to glass and the high cost of them means less people would buy them. Maybe a silicone/glass mixture could be created? I wish I was that smart...
This is the second container I buy for my Vitamix. Since I had one of the old models I was using the 32 oz. container but this one is 48 oz. and it is perfect for my husband and I and I use it every si hike day. Great quality and easier to clean.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The 48 oz. container is far superior when it comes to making small batches. This is because the tapered, narrower base makes it easy for this container to create a vortex with less ingredients than is necessary with the 64 oz low profile containers. In addition, the 48 oz container is large enough for all but the largest of recipes. I really wish all Vitamix blenders came with the ability to choose which size container that you prefer. My dream combo would be an A3300 blender with the tall thin classic 64 oz. container that comes with the 5200. I realize that the Classic 64 oz. container does not work with Ascent blenders; I just wish that it did.
