Purifies what all others have left behind.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Effective. Quiet. Efficient. POWERFUL. Those are the words that come to mind when I think about my PuriCare Air Purifier. The unit comes in a sleek box and is very well packaged inside. After unboxing I read through the directions, which only takes a minute or two. The stylish and contemporary design are very eye catching. Yet the unit doesn't look like a air purifier. It simply blends into the decor of the room.
I have the unit set up in my kitchen. Between the door opening from the family coming and going, cooking and my 88lb dog whom eats and sleeps in the room, its safe to say there was a considerable about of impurities and odors in the air. From the moment I turned the PuriCare on you could notice the different in the air quality. The PuriCare's "Smart Light" is a great indicator for just how many particles are in the air your family is breathing. I love coming home and seeing the Smart Light lite Green because I then know that my family and our beloved k9 have been breathing in clean, refreshing air all day.
As someone whom suffers from allergies, I have noticed a significant drop in my usual sinus issues. And you have to hear it to believe just how quiet the PuriCare Air Purifier really is. Once you turn it on the only indication you'll ever notice that it's on is the Smart Light. I wouldn't use another air purifier no matter how good the deal.
Pros: Style/Design, Features/Settings, Performance, Quality, easy to use

Works great, very silent, I'm impressed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my LG PuriCare Air Purifier and put it to the test over the last several days. I have owned one air purifier before, a tower model (that cost quite a lot back in the day). I have to say I was very skeptical of any air purifiers because for all the cash spent on the old one I never felt it did anything other than create an odd smell in the room it was running in. I have had allergies where I end up stuffy and sneezing at night and was hoping the air purifier would help with dust etc. I stopped using the old one years ago since it made no difference to me.
I don’t know if air purifier technology has in general improved a lot since then, but I have to say this LG unit is quite impressive. The air already feels cleaner to me and the general amount of dust in the room is already noticeable lower. I can tell from the amount of dust built up in the filter that it is definitely doing its job.
There is a circular light right in the center of the front face which shows a color indicating the quality of the air. Green is for good quality, and then ranges from yellow through red (completely contaminated air). After initial power on it takes about 30 seconds to determine the air quality and then starts purifying with settings accordingly matched to the current air quality. I like that you get some indication of the current air quality instead of just plugging it in and hoping it is doing something like all the other air purifiers I’ve seen.
The unit is also very quiet, it will power up and be more noticeable occasionally as it detects more dust but for the most part it is very quiet and has never woken me up. There is a Turbo option which runs for a half hour in maximum cleanup mode which is great for initial use or after some major pollutants/smells.
It has a child lock feature which is great for me because my little guy was definitely curious about this thing and started hitting all the buttons as soon as he saw it. It locks out all the buttons including the power button.
The filers are very easy to remove and clean (see video). It has multiple filters each having its own purpose (one for larger particles, one for pollens, dust, etc, and one for odors). It also has a setting for adjusting the PM density results for different dust particle size. After its auto detect at initial startup it set this to the “10” option for me and I just left it there as that handles particles 10µm and below. It claims to handle all sorts of toxic chemicals as well as sterilizing the air from viruses, allergens, and bacteria.
As seen in my video in the first room I tried it, it read 22 initially and then that quickly came down to around 8/9 after running it for a few minutes. When I took it to my bedroom, it read 88! I let it do its thing for a while and saw that it was automatically switching the dust particle size indicator and spinning the fan higher and lower. The reading for the current air quality slowly moved down as I ran it and the indicator went slowly from red to orange, to yellow and eventually to green. It took about 2 hours to reach Green status.
The odor reduction also seems to work but don’t expect miracles. I have a 4 month old and a 2.5 year old, and it didn’t exactly immediately eliminate the diaper smells after changing them. They did dissipate quicker though than without the unit, especially if I close the bedroom door.
Over the last few days I definitely have noticed a major reduction in allergic sniffling due to dust since I started using this thing, so it definitely is working. Overall I am happy with the unit. My only complaints are: I wish it had a mode to turn off the status indicator light as it can be distracting at night in a dark room, and second, I wish you could use it to get rid of cooking odors as those can be strong depending on what you’ve cooked. But it specifically says not to use it for that purpose. Not a big deal though as that is not the primary purpose of this unit.
Pros: Style/Design, Performance, easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this device and was not sure it would work. My daughter has a lot of allergies and the pollen count is high in my area. After using the PuriCare for two nights she seemed to improve. A week later she is taking less medication for her allergies. The air in the room seems crisper and fresher.
I was worried that it would sound like a fan running all the, but it is very quiet and I have to look at the device to see if it is on. The filters are quick to take out and easy to clean.

Powerful, versatile and very efficient purifier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I began using LG PuriCare for more than a week and it has made a fascinating difference in air quality.
It has an assortment of features to keep the owner abreast of air quality.
The lowest fan setting is undeniably quiet. The high setting is more like a fan on medium speed, as it's certainly little audible but would not call it loud. Auto setting is incredibly quiet.

The control panel and display offers an easy way to get the most from the Puricare. Buttons are nice and large and are on top of the console. The light changes color to indicate the indoor air quality, from green (best) to yellow, orange and red (worst). More than that: a Particulate Matter indicator shows the density of dust for 3 different sizes, providing a more granular way for me to assess the air quality in my home.
LG PuriCare Air purifier not only has a sleek design but also a modern look. The round console and clean finishes looks very elegant to the room where you place it. Our friends said “One cannot tell this is an air purifier, it is so stylish and contemporary!”
Overall, I give high ratings for design, airflow and noise and air quality readings is very easy to understand. On a flip side, it does require filter replacement every year.
Our family recommends LG Puricare and we will buy another one soon for second room.

EXCELLENT PURIFIER – QUIET, EFFECTIVE, INFORMATIVE

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our experience with the LG PuriCare Air Purifier Console to date has been entirely positive. From receipt of the unit in well-designed packaging, to setup and usage, all product aspects appear to be well conceived, designed, tested, and implemented. The unique physical design of the unit is attractive and has become somewhat of a centerpiece in one of our living spaces, as well as a conversation piece for family and friends. The well-written and intuitive documentation, labeling, instructions, etc. made initial setup and usage a “breeze”. In addition to visual aesthetics, the sound level of the unit running on low speed (which is almost all of the time) is barely noticeable in a totally quiet home, and completely imperceptible with anything else running such as a television, refrigerator, etc. My wife and I were also interested and pleased to learn that based on the unit’s indicators, the air quality that we live in appears to be quite good. As such this was an aspect/feature of the product that we didn’t expect – not only does it quietly and effectively clean the air that we and our family breathe, it also serves as an informative monitor and analysis tool. Also very interesting to us is the sensitivity of the unit. When we open and close exterior doors to our home the PM (Particulate Matter) indicator and associated color status occasionally indicate increased densities of particulates in the air. This is likely due to oak pollen from the trees we live in proximity to. The addition of this product to our home has been both welcome and pleasing, and also valuable to us as relatively new grandparents who often host our young granddaughter. We highly recommend the product – it won’t be the last LG air product that we and our family use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this air purifier for a couple of weeks, and so far it has been very helpful. I have not used an air purifier previously, but my parents had them in their home. I remember them being loud, and sort of awkward looking.
First of all, this machine is far from awkward. It was bigger than I expected, but it is very stylish. I think it would fit many décor styles, including modern, mid-century, minimal, Scandinavian, and so on. Having space for it might be of concern for some people. Check the dimensions before you purchase it!
There is quite a bit of information provided by the purifier. Air quality in general is indicated by the LED on the front of the unit. Particulate Matter Density is displayed on top, in μg/m^3. It is easy to see at a glance your stats. I do not have any other air quality measuring device so I cannot attest to the accuracy, but I am going on the assumption of correct calibration.
The unit is very quiet, especially when I think back to my parent's house. I barely hear the fan.
Maintenance should be easy, with indicators for cleaning or changing the filters. The filters are very easy to access.
The only thing I am struggling with is the LED on the front. I cannot figure out how to dim it. So at night we turn off because we like a very dark room. There is an indicator button on top, but I have not been able to see it do anything.
Overall, I am pleased with this unit.

Breathe easy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this purifier and have been using it for a few months now. I used to wake in the middle of the night coughing. Ever since using this in the bedroom, I've been sleeping through the night uninterrupted. I love when the machine knows to power into overdrive when the air is dusty or has odors... it lets me know that its really working!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am an LG employee and was shocked to find that we now sell Air Purifiers. I purchased one to replace another filter unit and this one is incredible. I have 2 dogs and a cat and there is no noticeable odor and when there are pollutants, the filter gives us a visual notification. We love it.
