The Samsung Galaxy S5 is an amazing phone. First of all, I am a middle aged woman that is not too tech savy. This phone made the transition to it very easy. It is easy to figure things out. The camera is unbelievable. My daughter who has the latest iPhone wants this phone for the camera!! And the battery life is grear as well!
Performance and battery life – the two features I appreciate most, and it's got it.

I've owned this phone for three months now, and I've had a very positive experience. The two features that I look for most in electronics is the performance speed and the battery life to back it up, and the S5's got it! I've labeled each aspect I review with a letter grade and details.
CPU: A+. The S5 is extremely quick and capable of processing any application. The 2.5 GHz Quad-Core processor will not let you down.
Battery: A. The battery life usually lasts me until the end of the day on medium usage – say 15-20% (on low usage, I have over 50% by day's end; on high usage, it's probably close to dead – good thing there's Power Saving and Ultra Power Saving modes to keep it alive longer!). This phone also has a USB 3.0 connection, which allows it to also charge quicker than normal USB 2.0 ports on other Android devices; this is really awesome because you can gain a good amount of battery life back in little time. I would say it charges from red to 100% in about 2 hours. You may say that other competitor's phones may also charge in that same amount of time, but note that this phone's standard battery capacity is 2800 mAh, while the competitor's phones that charge in the same amount of time likely have a fraction of that battery capacity, meaning the S5 can consume more power (because it's such a fast phone) but also lasts for a longer duration before being depleted. This is coming from a former RAZR Maxx owner, and that phone was the longest-lasting smartphone ever made.
Built-in apps: B (on average; some apps better than others). The S Health app that comes with it is pretty great, especially for more health-conscious consumers. This app alone is an A+ feature, but the phone does have some bloatware riddled in. I love the built-in pedometer that tracks my every movement, telling me how far I've walked and how many calories I've burned (I'm assuming based on my given height and weight). I also use the Exercise part of S Health to track my running and cycling. It gives great feedback and stats, and it tracks your path on a map very accurately (by GPS), displaying your relative speed in each section by color. The S5 also has less bloatware (or unnecessary, preloaded apps) than previous iterations of the Galaxy series, which is a plus – of course it can be improved by not pre-installing any unnecessary apps other than apps that utilize the built-in features of the device, such as with S Health and its pedometer and heart-rate monitor. In addition, I really do not like the GALAXY Apps store. It seems that certain apps I downloaded from there cannot be uninstalled or even "turned off" (new feature that lets you disable apps that cannot be uninstalled). Now these apps are permanently running in the background, eating resources, and I cannot get rid of them!
Speakers: A. The speaker is good for a phone (no problems hearing my music while showering or hanging out). The quietest option is good enough to be barely noticeable, while the loudest option is loud.
Camera: B. The camera is decent. It's good enough for everyday purposes, but I would say I would have desired one that took better pictures for my recent trip to Italy. There were many sights that I took pictures of with my phone and wished it took crisper photos. It also seems to make my photos a little dimmer than they should be (I only use the automatic, default setting, though, so that may be my mistake; I'd sacrifice a little bit of time for a little bit of quality). I would say that the camera is "good enough" but could definitely be better! As much as I despise that "fruit company" and its products, that other company's phone's cameras take quality photos.
Screen: A-. The 5.1-inch 1080p Super AMOLED HD screen looks great, especially if this is going to be your first HD smart phone. I've seen better screens on some other recently released phones, though, so I wouldn't give this aspect an A+. It's also a little more difficult to handle a big screen like this if you don't have huge hands. More screen space allows for more things to be viewed at once, but it's also harder to maneuver when you only have one hand available. There is also Multi Window (multitasking), which allows you to use two apps (from a certain list) at the same time. I wish it would allow us to use any two apps at once – that would be perfect.
Robustness: A+. The dust-proof and water-resistant features are also definitely a plus. I never worry about having my phone next to me on my sink because I can just wipe it off if it gets wet.
Other features: C+. The IR blaster (which allows the phone to act as a TV remote) is a plus, but I find it's easier to just use my actual TV and cable remotes. The lack of physical feedback (i.e., actual buttons) makes it feel weird. The built-in remote app for controlling your TV will very likely be able to find any model of TV you own, but it may take a while to find the exact TV, and then you might not even be able to utilize all of the buttons/options for that TV with this remote app. I've not used the fingerprint scanner because it seems unnecessary to me.
Design: A-. Like I noted previously about the screen, the phone is a bit too big to handle comfortably with one hand, but having a large phone (with a large screen to fit) is a selling point for many people. If the Mini version had the same exact specs of this phone (obviously excluding the screen size), then I would highly consider that. However, this is the better option. The shape is very nice and the material the phone is made of is just okay. There are other phones that are better in this category.
Value: A. I listed 5 stars for Value, but that is my personal opinion. I am a bit biased as I got this phone at an extremely lucky value at the time of purchase, but I believe that this phone is worth its price.
Although I discussed some cons with this phone, it seems I complained about a lot of features and that I should not have given it 5 stars in my review. However, this phone is loaded with so many positive features compared to other smartphones that it is indeed still 5 stars, in my opinion. Wonderful phone! I do highly recommend the Galaxy S5, but that does not mean that I also recommend other great smartphones on the market as well.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, cpu, battery, s health
Cons: camera is not the best, unnecessary built-in apps
I would recommend this to a friend!

the fast multitasking ram that's built in and that it is water resistant makes it even better. i love this phone
I am SO happy I switched back to Samsung! Don't know why I ever strayed away. Never again! From now on I will be forever sticking with Samsung devices.
First off let me say simply amazing. Brilliant schemes light weight design and very responsive. From the 16mp camera to the slim light weight interface. Having this phone is virtually like owning a high end portable computer. Being able to track my calories I burn with s health to game playing I am blown away. I enjoy the speeds and the comments i get on the design is a ear to ear smile of a money well spent investment. Don't let the price fool you as you get what you pay for in this world. Samsung Galaxy S5 is the way to go. Got the world in the palm of your hand. Too many great apps and features to list. The only cons I can think of is the temperature of the device while playing games. My wife and I play the Sims free play and we seen the device exceed 130 degrees at which we will use clean master to help boost clean and monitor our devices. Yes bought a matching pair. So what are you waiting for ?
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, super fast, dependable
