There is not one thing I don't like about this device. For a person like me, (who's always having problems staying on task) it has many samsung or google app choices to help streamline and simplify life in general. 5 out of 5 stars. Thank you both "Samsung" and "Google" for an amazing product.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Durable, Inexpensive, Lightweight, Built-in speakers, weather & element resistant
Cons: my device doesn't have a carrier.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good Upgrade

This is my 3rd Samsung Galaxy phone, starting with the s2, then s3, now with the s5. I actually had to get a replacement handset a few days after purchasing the s5 on the release day. There was some internal issue not allowing me to set up my visual voice mail and I also could not receive text messages. If either of these occurs for you, it's a hardware problem and you should go get a replacement.
Overall, I really like the features such as air gesture which allows me to preview emails without opening them, privacy mode is good so third party apps are no longer needed, download booster is a great add on, and I'm sure being able to adjust the touch sensitivity will be good for the winter time. The screen is vibrant and the camera is much more intuitive and faster to use. I however think the size of the device is a bit much, and I've got pretty large hands. I think maybe giving it a surface with more tack would help with gripping the phone, because it can be slippery at times. Definitely invest in a case. The tool box is a cool feature if you don't typically care for the multi-window. I know that at times I would be on an app or playing a game and accidentally pull out the mulit-window drawer and no matter where on the screen I moved the tab, I would eventually find myself pulling it while using another app. Tool box can get in the way of games as well, but the benefit is that you can add any app to it you choose.
Just a fair warning for those customers who had a mobile-life account to backup contacts, there is no longer an account setup on this device for mobile-life, but the solution is easy. You login to your account through your phone's browser, select all contacts and save them to your phone as a v-card file. In your contacts you can import from the file you just saved and voila, all contacts are now saved to your phone. Then from there you can re-sync them any other back up accounts.
One thing I'm going to stay away from for a while is the fingerprint security feature. I've already seen after a few days that this has been hacked for PayPal and until a software update requiring a pin password protection either before or after the print scan, I refuse to use it.
I'm indifferent about the change in the buttons. I liked having a menu button and now I find myself pressing it as a menu key when it now shows your open apps, but it'll take some time to get used to. Long pressing the home key brings up Google Now, which I don't really use, but it's good for those who do.
Overall it's a good purchase and most of new features are and can be useful depending on the user's needs.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: fingerprint scanner is not secure
I would recommend this to a friend!

Samsung Hits Another Home Run!!!

I upgraded from the Samsung Galaxy S III and I have to say that the Galaxy S5 is a major step forward! The phone has a beautiful 1080P display that's super power efficient when being used. The phone moves quickly and is very responsive and a lot of bloatware has been removed. The camera takes beautiful pictures especially with HDR turned on. The data connection and Wi-Fi moves incredibly fast for downloads. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HOW POWER EFFICIENT THE PHONE IS!!!! They implemented some power saving algorithms from a partnered company like they did on the Note 3, in edition to using more power efficient materials and this phone gets INSANE BATTERY LIFE!!! I consistently get 20+ hours of battery life out of my phone playing on it about 4+ hours a day and that's NOT USING the power saving features. This is just using the phone normally. All and all Samsung did a great job on this phone.
Only two mild complaints: 1st, I don't like the feel of the battery cover. It looks nice but something about the feel of the cover just feels cheap. It's a superficial complaint. Idk how else to explain it other than the back cover feels cheap but the rest of the phone feels premium. Also the back cover vibrates bad when the back speaker is playing loudly and is a bit annoying. 2nd, not being able to turn GPS off and on by itslef. Yes you can use just GPS in location settings but I have to keep switching between Power Saving mode and GPS. On the S3 you could essentially leave "Power Saving" location settings on and just toggle GPS off and on. You can no longer do that. So now if I want power saving mode back on I have to dive into setting to flip from GPS mode to Power Saving mode.
All in all the Galaxy S5 is a great phone and I recommend it to everyone wanting a premium smartphone!!!
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, full hd 1080p, long battery life, 16 mp camera, fingerprint scanner, customizability
Cons: battery cover vibrates, cheap feel w/ back cover
I would recommend this to a friend!

So I went from an iPhone to the galaxy s5 and wow...if apple wants to compete they better step their game up! The s5 if freaking awesome! I love all of the features and it's durability! It's so fast compared to my iphone..which is notorious for force closing apps and freezing! The screen is bigger and the graphics are amazing! I don't think there is a better phone out right now! I would recommend this phone to anyone!
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
