Great way to move away from a "dumb phone"

I tend to treat this phone as an accessory to my Gear S watch, which I purchased at the same time. I like the features on the phone, but after being out of the smart phone loop for about 6 years, I've found that I don't really "need" many of the smart phone features, though they're nice to have. I use this more than I thought I would, but not nearly as much as your average "under 30" crowd. I love that it has a removable/replaceable battery and expandable storage. It's the reason I chose this over the S6/S6 Edge. The additional features on those phones didn't seem to be worth what they took away with that model. If I could have purchased the watch without the phone, I would have done so. The phone is nice if you're a phone addict, but the watch takes care of everything I need and is my go-to device. The only time I choose my phone over my watch is if I'm going to be on a long conversation or if I want to take pictures/video.
That said, the set up on this was quicker and easier to use than my previous smart phone, even though I went with a standard set up and not their "easy" version. My husband has an iPhone and after using both, I prefer my Galaxy. It's easier to text on it, thanks to the Swype function and a more accurate predictive text. I get good battery life out of it, but that might be because I don't use it much.
While the iPhone is easy to use and learn, it's so BASIC. The iPhone's ability is so limited and it's space just isn't enough. Having the iPhone for two years just showed me how slow and buggy it gets so quickly. Also my screen always cracks.... from the smallest drops, even with an Otter Box on it!
The S5 has endless capabilities that are fun, useful and easy to use. Not only is it capable of so many more tasks, but you can insert more space by purchasing a bigger drive! It never slows down or becomes buggy because you can just keep replacing the drive and use it forever! Upgrades are not necessary, and MY SCREEN NEVER CRACKS!
I like my phone, theres just a few things i dont like about it but other than that its a great phone.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display
Cons: Too big
I would recommend this to a friend!

Reception is Strong

Reception for the Galaxy S5 is much improved over reception using the Galaxy Nexus. This delighted me, since I live in a rural area. Overall, the phone is easy to use, and there are a number of options for customization. I was disappointed with Samsung's decision to pre-load software applications I don't want or use. I do find messaging to multiple recipients clumsy (software or user issue, not a phone issue). The latest system upgrade requires you to swipe to clear the screen, then swipe again to open messages. Cumbersome - not a valuable "upgrade."
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, charges in about an hour; retains charge long time
Cons: pre-loaded software.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love the galaxy series. I have had the original, the s2, the s3 and now the s5.
