Great so far!

I've had my Galaxy 5 for a few weeks and have no complaints. It's big but not giant, takes awesome pictures with lots of different settings, no service issues, really fast, and the battery lasts for more than a day even with a bunch of apps running.
Pros: Bright display, Durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

Battery doesn't last long

Very disappointed with battery life. I have to recharge during the day. From when I wake up in morning to 11:00 am, I am about 70%. Very disappointed. Tried everything in my power to fix this except get a new battery. I really shouldn't have to pay for it.
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Th email camera is amazing the speed is excellent the weight and the lenth is just right and I love the space and storage as well I do recommend this product I love Samsung products

Excellent upgrade choice

My first smartphone was the Galaxy 3. I loved that phone but after two years it just decided to die so I had to upgrade. I like the feature of a removable and replaceable battery so I opted for the Galaxy 5 rather than wait for the newer 6 which is more Apple in my mind. The phone has lots of great features like the 3. It added a heart monitor if your into checking your health as well as a fingerprint scan to lock your phone. What I miss terribly and have no clue why they eliminated a standard camera feature today is the scenes mode. I constantly used the sunset and beach modes to enhance my pictures. Why Samsung? Please add the scenes feature back in your next software upgrade for the phone. They also tweaked the clock app so it no longer gives the option of a news briefing alarm. I liked that feature but can live without it. One other plus I almost forgot - the phone comes with a quick charger. You can still use a standard charger in a pinch.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, quick charger, 16 mp camera, waterproof
Cons: removed camera scenes mode, some cases compromise waterproof

So many little things add up to one big pain

I had a phone from a company that sells pure android before this S5 and I miss it. My old phone never crashed, never had random apps crash, never over heated, never ran out of juice for no good reason. My S5 on the other hand suffers from all these issues. My contacts regularly crashes throughout the day. The phone is filled with junk software and while I can disable a few most I am stuck with and they are horrible bloatware so I get to get my carrier bloatware AND the manufacturer bloatware.
Pros: snappy
Cons: Did not meet expectations

I would have given this phone a higher rating however, the phone seems to have an ongoing issue with the camera, and other embedded feature repeatedly shut down when i try ti use them, like the camera, clock, alarm the calendar etc, i have to then re start the phone to get them to work, i even tried resetting to default factory settings and it dd not work properly. in addition to that the phone makes phone calls on its own, and no one is touching it when it does, it is laying on my desk charging. the battery life is better that the s3 and S4 but still needs work, the phone also keeps unseating my memory card, it reads like i just inserted the card every time I turn on the phone or restart

I've had the s5 almost a year and Idk that I'm impressed. My husband's razr Maxx hd works the same for half the price. My camera is always blurry. It has a delay when opening or closing apps
