Hello. On the back of the alarm, there is an H shape door on either side of the plug. On the door is two lines of raised ridges ending in a triangle forming two arrows pointing down. Put your thumbs on the arrows and slide the battery door in the direction of the arrows. It will only go down about an eighth of an inch. You should then be able to take the battery door off. If the door is a bit tight, call us with the alarm in hand at 1-800-880-6788. For pictures of the battery door, refer to our owner's manual on our website, page 9 of 19.

Great for the most part

I have not had any issues at all with this product, until it started chirping. It comes up with a code, L9 but I can't find anywhere what that means. It's a plug in with a battery back up so I don't think the battery would need replaced.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It says battery included but there is no battery included and it took a while to figure out how to open the battery compartment. instructions are crappy. and I doubt anyone is going to answer at the 800 number

There were no instructions with the alarm, I had to print them out from the web site. Other then that it seems to be a fine alarm.

GFCI issues.

I have 3 plugged in and all are tripping the GFCI receptacles. Separate units in separate circuits. What is the problem?
