What can I say this baby is huge! I was given a Hamilton Beach crockpot last Christmas and before the year was out the crock cracked while cooking. I knew it would not last. So I bought myself this one and another. I still have my old crockpot i recieved as a wedding present in 2004. The only thing wrong with it is the handle broke on lid and the metal part, but she still works like a champ. So lesson to learn folks if you want to give a gift then gift a reliable crockpot buy from the best!

I am delighted with this enormous crockpot! I can make enough stuffed peppers for EVERYONE now. I just made a big pot of chicken and dumplings - it heats quickly, cooks at a very even heat - just am delighted! Very easy to clean also. It still fits in my dishwasher which makes me happy. Make no mistake -- this is a HUGE crockpot - big family size! And such a great price!!

Purchased the 8qt crock pot for my mum. She loves it. Now she can easily make meals for 6 and still have enough for leftovers. The only problem is, it's very heavy when it's full.

Warm setting too hot!

I have had this Crock for a few months now and have given it a good run. I have tested the warm setting out now on several occasions, with the same results Everytime! Your food will literally BOIL on the warm setting! A few days ago I filled the Crock all the way to the top with queso, and after getting it perfectly melted and hot all the way through, I had to start unplugging it and plugging it back in to keep the cheese at the right temp. Because, putting it on the warm setting was causing it to BOIL. Then, when all was said and done, the burned cheese along the inside where the heating element is was aweful to clean!! - Now, yesterday I made chili, and instead of unplugging, etc., I just put it on warm and left the lid off. It still boiled, but not rapidly, like it did with the lid on. There's seriously something wrong with this Crock. I'm sorry I bought this Model!

This crockpot is huge. You can do racks of ribs or cook enough macaroni & cheese for a family reunion! It's a great size for those large meal occasions!

We are a family of 5. 3 very sport active boys (6,10,14) and a BoyMom and BoyDad. So there is no lack of eating in our house. The local grocery store manager always greets us like a high roller at a casino. Except the house never loses in this situation. However, I digress.
We have used Crock-Pots for years. A few times I'd move over to the digital one only to be disappointed and have to go back to my 20 year old standard Knob (The old standby). The boys have gotten older, us as parents got sucked into the volunteering of Wrestling, Football, Baseball, Cross Country, etc. etc. The 6qt wasn't holding out anymore. It will get filled to the brim with some splash over in order to feed our offspring that act like we never feed them.
Enter the 8qt. It was what I expected Yes it does hold more food. It also works good as a warmer for when you need to bring food to events or keep it on standby if it finishes early.
Cons- 1. If you normally cook food and have room in your 6qt. Do not get this. It will cook the food faster as it is designed to cook 6-8qts of food.
2. It would be nice if it at the clamps for the lid. That option isn't available as I cook and travel for my boys sporting events and I volunteer to bring food.
