Defective/cannot get through to company

It seemed to be of cheap construction so I didn’t use it for a while after purchasing. When washing the crock I noticed a huge defect in the bottom that was glazed over during manufacturing. I couldn’t risk using it. I’ve tried numerous times to call and could not get through. The email form would not allow me to complete. So disappointing since my old crock pot was great. I doubt if I will be buying anything else from this company.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased 2 of the 8 qt crockpots. I bought a 6 qt crockpot about 25 years ago, and it cooked without no problem. I would put my food in the 6 qt crock pot and I could leave home for a few hours and come home to a wonderful aroma in the house. Both of the 8 qt crockpots are a nuisance. Within a couple of hours of starting to cook my food, the contents are boiling...and that is on the low setting. I am afraid to leave the house when I am cooking in one of the 8 qt crockpots. What did Crock=pot do different in designing the 8 at crock pot? Plus the outside of the crockpot unit itself is SO hot to the touch. My 6 qt never had any of these problems. I am very, very disappointed in both of the 8 qt crockpots. I would like to return both of these crockpots with a full refund. Crock pot isn't what it use to be.

Hello, Thank you for sharing your experience. The Crock-Pot® Manual 8-Quart Slow Cooker is designed to cook at USDA-recommended food-safe temperatures, which may result in it heating faster than older models. Over the years, slow cooker designs have changed to improve food safety and meet updated regulations, which may explain why your new units heat differently than your 25-year-old 6-quart model.
We understand your concerns about the cooking temperature and exterior heat. The outer housing can get warm during use, as slow cookers are designed to transfer heat efficiently. If the units are boiling food too quickly on low, please ensure they are not overfilled, as this can impact cooking performance.

It's a simple use cookware product. I use frequently and for a variety of meals. The clean up is most important to me. It's a large unit so make sure you have space for it, whether countertop or storage.
What a great investment! I love slow cooked meals, so tasty! Soup, stew, anything you wish! Just throw all your ingredients in there and let it do it’s thing! I love making boeuf bourguignon with it! Always come out perfect! Easy to wash and store! A must have!!

Large capacity, Easy cleanup .

I do a lot of slow cooker meals, and the Crock Pot, 8 - Quart Slow Cooker has the capacity to make soups, stews, casseroles, and many other main dishes to feed my family with plenty of leftovers for easy meal prep. The three temperature manual control, allows low, high, and warm settings. I like the plastic handle on the lid because it doesn’t get hot to the touch. Cleaning is easy with the large removable crock. And even though most people think of crockpots for fall and winter cooking, I use it year round in my kitchen.

I have always used slow cookers so I was excited to purchase this large model (SVC655B-IUK) to enable me to cook a whole chicken/turkey crowns. I have had it for several months however, I have not used it very often. So, I was disappointed that the crock insert developed a hairline crack during use which caused the liquid to leak into the casing below. I am now scared to use it incase it breaks in half. I would add that it has not been dropped or banged and is never immersed in water whilst it is hot.

I received this crockpot as a gift. I cooked chicken breasts in the crockpot. When I went to clean up there was a mess after taking out the liner & I didn’t understand why. While washing the liner, I found a crack that spidered into a few directions.

My husband bought in a pinch during our move in July as my old was still packed away. We we’re having a ton of ppl over for our sons birthday and was trying to do a roast. At the time I couldn’t figure out , Bc I was so busy trying to get the house in order and prepare for company, why in the world it kept boiling over and I had a constant mess with it all over my counter and even spilling onto my floor! Grease and water everywhere! Thank god for my sister being in town and helping me clean up the overwhelming mess! At that point, we had to set it in the sink, keep refilling and hope for the best! Now a cpl months later, I’ve decided to give it a try again and I can see the problem. The lid does not fit! There’s no seal and though the diameter fits, the sides are gapped and the lid rocks back and forth. Much easier to notice now when it’s not covered in a boiling mess

Hello there crys23,
Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. Your feedback is important to us as it helps us to improve our products and services continuously. We sincerely apologize for this situation, this is not the experience we would like you to have and we will pass this on to our product team.
It is advisable to not fill stoneware higher than ¾ full to avoid spillovers. Additionally, There should be no concern if you see a small gap between your lid and the crock itself. The gap should be no more than ¼ inch on one side.
We pride ourselves on being the best in the business and would like the opportunity to turn this experience around for you. We want to learn more about your situation and what exactly happened. Therefore we encourage you to please reach out to us via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9 am -5 pm Eastern Time.
