Perfect for New Moms and Grandmas!

Oster has done it again! They've made a product that is durable, easy to use, and affordable. This Immersion Hand Blender with Chopper works so well whether chopping almonds or blending the morning smoothie, you'll never be disappointed with the results. I recommend this product for mom's whom have babies just starting on fruits and vegetables as well. As a Grandmother, I'm all about giving my first Grandson the freshest food possible without additives. The Oster Immersion Hand Blender with Chopper has quickly become a MUST HAVE in our household at this point for many reasons, the previous statement happens to be one of them.

Must-Have Kitchen Tool!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Oster Immersion Hand Blender with Chopper is an amazing addition to my kitchen supplies. I received this product at no charge to sample, and know now that I would pay full price. The ability to chop or blend with this easy to use tool is fantastic. It is very easy to use and gets the job done quickly. It's easy to store and looks sleek with its red color. It also creates less dishes than a regular blender does! The only thing I had an issue with was getting the chopper container to close properly, which I had to double check the alignment for to do. I love this product and use it regularly.

At least it's not expensive

The honest truth about this immersion blender set is that the blender works fine, but the chopper attachment is a waste, and that was my main reason for buying it. The top, which is very hard to remove initially, filled with soapy dishwater the first time I washed it, and no amount of shaking it will get it to come back out. And I have yet to get it to chop a small amount of almonds evenly -- while those at the bottom are turning to paste, the ones on top never seem to get chopped beyond a rough chop. The blender itself seems to work fine, though the shaft gets dented if you tap it on the side of the bowl. If you need an inexpensive immersion blender, I would suggest you get the blender only, and forego the chopper attachment.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Almost perfect - but not quite

I bought it last year & finally started using the the attachments. The tall one is perfect for making my favorite salad dressing & I'm looking forward to using it for other things. The food chopper is OK, but the top is hard to remove. It also got full of water the first time I washed it, so now I just wipe it clean. After several weeks there is still water in it - the drops come out if I shake it hard. I'm going to say "yes" to the next question about recommending this product, but with a qualifier - I'd mention not to immerse the chopper cap when cleaning it & warn that it's tricky to remove.

Infuriating

The lid of the food chopper attachment is the worst designed thing in my kitchen. It's almost impossible to open it. I've barely used this thing because the attachment is so miserable to deal with. I came to the Oster site looking for a manual, hoping there would be some trick to the food chopper lid. The food chopper isn't even in the manual. Useless!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great kitchen tool!

I am giving this hand blender a rating of 4 out of 5 due to the fact that I had a very difficult time opening up the food processor attachment when I first got it. It got easier after several uses but it was very frustrating that it wasn't easier in the beginning. I like the size of all the pieces and love that the base can double as a lid for food storage. The blender and chopper work well with blending soups, chopping vegetables and making salad dressings and personal smoothies. I think it's a great tool to have in the kitchen and a great price for everything included in this set. I received this hand blender set as a sample to review but that in no way influenced the rating that I gave it today.

My husband and I follow the south beach diet plan and have worn out our previous personal blender. I decided to try this one because of its multifunctional abilities. The immersion blender attachment is amazing and blends really well. I'm not thrilled with the quality of the chopper attachment though. The blade is a bit short and not all that powerful. I'm also not sold on the quality of the plastic used for the containers. It's a very thin plastic and I'm afraid if they fall from any height greater than a foot, they will break. Aside from that though, I'm really happy with this set and have been using it daily.

Lightweight to use

I used this Oster product a couple different ways. I made two different liquids with it, first I made a Mexican hot chocolate with the immersion hand blender and I felt that it worked really good. It was powerful enough to mix the drink yet with the drink being so thin it didn't spray all over either. I also made a smoothie which was a little thicker and it could really get through the frozen yogurt and ice and it did a great job of blending it. I liked the shape of the handle, it was comfortable for my hand but it was not heavy to use. I also made guacamole with the chopper and it diced the tomatoes, onions and avocado very even and quick. I felt it was easy to clean up. I now leave it on my counter because I use it at least once a week. It saves so much time. As a disclaimer I need to let you know I received this product for free to test.
