Used twice before it broke. No replacement parts.

I brought this a few months ago and used it just twice. On the second time it broke on the lid - two plastic pieces broke. I have tried to find a replacement part, but none are available. I would not recommend this product - it's cheap but not worth the cost.
Also, the packaging was horrible. A sharp edge was exposed and I sliced my finger when I opened the box the first time. Blood went all over my kitchen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Totally disappointed. I really wanted to like this

At first i was really excited, made some mayo turned out great then i did hummus and it was ok, it wasnt as smooth as i would had liked. I think it it just doesn't blend as much as id liked. I used it for a week. Then the worst thing ever! I made banana strawberry smoothie, no ice or anything, and my daughter was like "mom what are you trying to kill me"? I was like "what". She had a small triangle piece of plastic in her drink! It broke off from inside the machine. The plastic for these machines are trash. I never would have thought this could happen. I had to dump everything i made out from this week and couldn't find all the plastic pieces. Totally disappointed :(

Do not buy

This is a very nice product. I’ve used it about 5 times for almost a year, and today it broke on me. A little plastic piece that pushes down broke off. It will not allow the processor work in any way possible. This is a sad reality and a flaw within this product, that if you read, has happened to multiple people. You will eventually be disappointed whether you use it a little or a lot

Bad plastic!

This is the second food processor we have owned in our 21 years of marriage, and this one lasted about less than a year! Oster is known for its great quality but the plastic is not the best. Bits of plastic shards were found on shredded cheese. We also owned another Oster attachment for a blender made of pastic and also was flimsly. Again, bad plastic used for its parts.

Same design flaw everyone else is experiencing

I only used my food processor 4 times in the 6 months I’ve owned it. On the 5th time the plastic part of the handle that houses the safety trigger cracked. I never dropped it, never ran it through a dishwasher. The crack is minor but since the whole system depends on this safety feature the machine is now trash. What a senseless design flaw. At more than $10 per use this ended up being a very costly purchase.

Design flaw

Within the first year of ownership, the part of the bowl that completes the circuit, allowing this processor to function, broke off. Based upon other reviews, this appears to be a common problem. Warranty claim initiated--but I suspect that I will have the same issue with a replacement unit. This product needs to be re-assessed by engineering.

Okay for the money

After testing the Oster 10-cup Processor I have mixed reviews. I like the idea of suction cups on the base, which helps weigh down the unit, which otherwise is a bit lighter than other u its. I tested it to slice potatoes that I used to make an au gratin dish. While it worked smoothly, the slices were not always uniform. Next, I chopped ham for ham salad. The u it worked well for that function, finely chopping most of the pieces. I also experimented with shredding cheese. This is where I was disappointed because, again, pieces were not uniform in size The large capacity cup is a good feature, especially for those who might use it for dough, a test I did not put it through. The plastic cup, however, was light and flimsy. This makes me think it will scratch and/or crack easily over time lastly, while some of the parts are dishwasher safe, I preferred to wash by hand and found the chute a bit of a challenge to get some of the food out, especially the cheese and ham. I received this product as a sample to review, however, overall for the money, I think it is a fairly good product for the average home cook but I am not sure it would withstand a long life of frequent use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great processor

I really like my Oster food processor. It takes very little time to chop vegetables on the pulse. The safety features are great so that there is no mess make when adding food to the processor. I like the cord storage. The cord is not spread over the counter area. It makes storage of the unit very easy. I love the measuring cup. I do not have to use a lot of unnecessary dishes. The unit has storage for all of the parts. This keeps all pieces together until the next use. It is great to be able to use a good product such as this processor. This is a good unit that I received as a sample to review.
