Dislike and would not recommend

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to give this one star or my review will not go through.We needed to replace our 14yo GE dryer when the motor started to smoke. So we decided to replace the GE washer also because it was 14yo and the W/D sit next to one another in the laundry room and I wanted them to match. Since there are cabinets over the W/D and they are approx. 54" above, I felt that it was best to get a washer with a lid that didn't open any higher. Whirlpool makes a washer that opens to 52". I have been married going on 53 years and have had GE and Whirlpool W/D's; so I thought that Whirlpool would be fine.This washer is very noisy, seems to take a hour+ to wash a load, no matter what size load. At the end of cycle the load is very wet and even if you put it for an additional drain and spin, the load is still as wet.The matching dryer is even worse, but that's a separate review. I hope to get another W/D soon.I would not recommend this washer to anyone.

Not Real Happy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If I had realized the lid locked while operating I would not have purchased this model. I like to see the cleaning mechanism at work. I also like to check on the water level. Not real happy.

hot water not allowed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine doesn't let you wash with hot water unless it is a heavy load. The hot water valve was broken and the repair people came and replaced the valve. But they found that this machine won't let you have a hot wash unless it is on HEAVY. That is just wrong. Also, it takes FOREVER to fill machine at start. And a regular load takes 45 minutes to wash. Don't see how this is "energy saving". Wish I kept my old Whirlpool washer.

Nice features

And despite the liquid in it that's supposed to help with balance, it gets out of balance with 2 sets of bath towels. I also don't like the locking lid. I get that I can pause to open the lid but then the water stops.
