What a piece of garbage. The whole point of a modern washer is for convenience. This machine is the exact opposite of convenience. You will need to baby sit your washing machine. I am not joking. We bought it and with in 48 hours, we heard EXTREMELY LOUD banging coming from it. We literally thought someone crash into our house. The following week, we noticed the same thing. After reading some reviews, we found out that if you don't properly distribute the load inside the washer, the cylinder tube inside will crash on its outer wall and into your walls. So you can't just place your clothes or towels inside, set it and walk away. Nope, nope, nope...you gotta make sure to evenly spread it out and pray to god it doesn't crash. So gone are the days of simply throwing in a towel or your kid's blanket for a quick wash. What a horrible design. We literally have cracks on our walls from this washer!!!!
I am actually hoping this thing will break down so I have an excuse to buy another washer. DEFINITELY FROM A DIFFERENT BRAND.

My washer was only a year and 2 weeks old when it stopped going through its cycles. Now its tub will only fill and empty. I am THOROUGHLY DISGUSTED!!! I am a disabled senior (without a car) and who bought it on my limited income. I feel like I wasted my money on a worthless product that is going to cause me the hardship of having to go to the laundromat.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My former washer was 15 years old and ten times quieter than the new whirlpool. It is VERY LOUD, even when I close the laundry room door. My husband hates it. Also, I can NEVER just start the washer and walk away and come back when it's finished. It SHAKES TERRIBLY in the rinse and the final spin cycle. I wanted the store where I purchased it to come out and look at it (the very first time I did the wash.) They informed me that it was normal. I carefully place the clothes in so that I think the weight is balanced out and it still shakes the entire house. IT'S REALLY BAD>

Innovation is not always a good thing!

I do not understand why the new machines are all electronic and we have no control over the wash. This machine does not allow me to soak my clothes which I sometimes like to do for many reasons. I also like to rinse more than once sometimes for other reasons. Cannot do. Need to restart the whole thing. I have no option for the type of load I want and the automatic filling does not work properly.
Innovation is not always a good thing. Please bring back machines that we can control.
Very disappointed.

Defective unit delivered.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The unit delivered was leaking water 20 minutes after the installers left.
I called Whirlpool and was told not to run it. I haven't. I demanded a new unit and Whirlpool said because it was installed, they'd have to "repair" it. It has never run a load.
Long story short, I have now about 7 hours of my time trying to get through Whirpool's automated phone systems and making multiple phone calls. I have a list of all of the employees names that I have talked to. Whirlpool has never done their part. Technically, I am waiting for Whirlpool to call me back to set up the "repair" of my new washing machine. They won't call and I'm ready to give up on it, throw away the crappy Whirlpool appliance and just buy something better and install myself.
I was a lifelong Whirlpool guy. Not any more.

Save your sanity. Don’t buy this weird washer

Purchased this model 4 months ago. Directions say: Put soap in first, then load clothes, then the water dribbles in for a few seconds on and off. Never fills enough water to cover clothes, if top is opened even to toss a last minute item in, it has to re restarted. Clothes come out not quite clean. Worst machine ever, and i only wish i could et my money back and buy a real washer. What a mistake.

Great Washer!

This is my third Whirlpool washer and as always it does a fantastic job as far as washing the laundry. I only have one minor disagreement with the newer models:
Whirlpool, PLEASE go back to the olden days when a washer had a knob or dial where I could pick the size load I needed. The new method of auto sensing the size of the load is really aggravating. My previous Whirlpool took about five minutes to fill for a large load. The new model? Fill a little, stop, fill a little more, stop until about 15 to 20 minutes later it's filled and ready to wash. I realize that this was set up to save water, but since most of us are paying a water bill I'm sure we'll pick the size load that saves the most water possible. Sometimes it's really true that the old ways were actually better!
