Conflicting explanations of "Deep Water Wash/Rinse

No matter which Wash Cycle I use along with "Deep Water Wash/Rinse"....the highest the water level will rise is 7" below the top of the drum. Yet, in Whirlpool's advertising when explaining "Deep Water Wash/Rinse".....they use the words..."to maximum level." This leads me to believe that this washer is not performing the way it should. In speaking with the dealer who sold me the machine, she said they believe that option to mean the washer just puts in a little more water than it would on the "Auto Sensing".....and also said whenever they have spoken to a Whirlpool technician, nothing is really clear.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
