Simple and easy to use

Really like the simplicity of this machine. Simply pressing the start button makes it easy to use without having to change the cycles and water level each time. Makes it very easy for my husband who is legally blind to do the laundry. However, I do have a few concerns. First off, I am not certain the auto sensing water fill is working quite right. It seems the water fills to the top regardless how many clothes are in it (and yes, I have the correct settings). The second concern is that I don't believe the spin cycle spins the clothes well enough. I can literally squeeze water out of my clothes before I put them into the dryer which in turn takes 3 times as long to dry our clothes. And I really dislike the locking lid. I like to have the water run for a little bit with the lid open and then add the clothes. Once the lid opens, the water instantly shuts off. And when the spin cycle is done, it takes forever for the lid to unlock.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased my Whirlpool after my16 year old Frigidaire Front Loader conked out. Had checked Consumer Reports, researched the top 5 washers, found this Whirlpool - great price, had all the features I wanted.
Then the following month my daughter's washer went out - a Samsung - mother board was shot and Samsung doesn't make replacement mother boards for that machine. So I purchased a Whirlpool for her birthday, same machine as mine, and she loves it also!!

New washer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a few weeks ago! I hate that i can not fill the washer w the lid open. I like to mix my water and soap b4 adding clothing. Can't do it. Also, I put fabric softener in the middle of the agitator, like I am supposed to. I keep having incidents that it appears not to empty out entirely and my blue fabric softener gets all over my clothes after the wash is complete. I have to rewash the load bc of this. Very frustrating!!!!

Never had a washer take over an hour to do a load

For some reason, this washer takes over an hour to do a load of clothes. Who has time for that? Laundry that use to take about a half hour now is double the time. Is it just on the auto sensing setting?
