[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had a whirlpool similar to this one, when dad had dementia! Washed laundry every single day for two years! Simply put, this old whirlpool was put through the wringer! Hope this new one will perform as well. Just have to get the dryer yo match now! It is wearing out ad well! Still drives the clothes.

A machine that actually cleans!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally, a washing machine that actually FILLS the barrel with water and comes with an agitator that actually gets your clothes clean! Unfortunately it was a close out. This is my 5th washing machine in 30 years. I’ve tried them all. I’ve had all the bells and whistles. Top loaders with no agitator. Giant barrels that just sprinkle/dampen your clothes then shuffle them around in the barrel. It sounded like a jet liner taking off in my basement. Some smelly work out clothes had to be washed 3 times before I was able to get the smell out of the arm pits! How is this an energy saver when you have to wash certain items 3 times? The electric panel never gave you the option of a hot wash/hot rinse. It forced you to use cold to save energy. This was another reason why I had to wash clothes more then one time in order for them to smell clean. What a waste. I’ve had a front loader that didn’t clean very well also. This barrel spun around sideways. It did allow more water into barrel, but no real agitator to rub cloths clean. The smell was awful when the rubber ring started wearing out. If you needed to add something mid cycle you could never open door. this machine was replaced before it even broke. I told the delivery men they could take it and still use it, as it wasn’t broken. I just didn’t like it. They didn’t want it either. They said nobody wanted them and they were all going in the garbage. All these fancy electric panels with so many options to clean don’t mean anything if you have to wash a load of laundry more then once. My daughter used my new machine for the first time and said, “mom, my clothes are actually feeling WET, before I put them in the dryer.” Sometimes on these other energy saver machines that cost up to a thousand dollars, when we remove the clothes from the machine to put in the dryer, they don’t even feel as though they had gotten wet? They’re just slightly damp from the “sprinkle” of water that the “sensor” allowed to go into barrel to just dampen my clothes. I guess that’s their idea of saving energy? Unfortunately, it doesn’t clean your clothes. I was so tired of replacing machines that I was determined to find an old type washer, that I originally had 30 years ago, that was able to actually submerge my dirty laundry completely in HOT water, and actually agitate the laundry to help loosen smells and dirt. This new machine I purchased had no bells and whistles. The control panel was not electronic, BUT MY LAUNDRY ACTUALLY COMES OUT CLEAN! The close out price was $420! After tax and delivery it was a little over $500. Still a great buy. Why are they getting rid of the only machines that actually clean? If you are a new home owner buying your first machine, beware of energy savers. The reason they save energy is because the water doesn’t get hot enough and they use much less of it. Just slightly dampening and sprinkling water on top of heavily soiled laundry, then having no agitator to rub clothes clean is NOT a washing machine, and does NOT save energy when you need to wash your laundry 2 or 3 times to get it clean! I’m sure by now you can understand my frustration with these new expensive “energy savers.” Please bring back the old washing machines that used to really clean our clothes. I love my new machine. I hope I never will have to replace it, as it was a close out, and I may be forced to go back to the energy savers that do not clean.
