First, B&D states two different maximum cooking temperatures for this oven. They state it's top-rated to 400 degrees, then also state it's top-rated to 450 degrees. Second, they never mention that it doesn't broil, and that it does not come with a baking pan. Also, nowhere do they mention the interior dimensions, or what size baking pan will best fit in this. And, there are no one-click buttons to toast at a temperature or setting that you select or want to default to. It's a hassle to get it to toast every single time at the right temperature and time that you want. You have to constantly press multiple buttons every time you use it. Another thing is that the interior rack has only one position nearest the heating element. which is halfway up the inside of the toaster. Would have been much better if you could select different rack positions. Also, the crumb tray on the bottom is not removable - it only flips down, which is completely useless. There's no way to wash the tray in your sink. Finally, they never mention if it comes with a heat-shield for the cabinet, or if the included mounting item is a heat shield, and if it will completely shield the 450 degrees this oven produces. No where do they warn of possible fire if a heat shield is not used. The underside of my cabinet charred black and nearly caught on fire. Thank God I smelled the burning wood smell before it actually burst into flames and burned our house down. This is a big, and dangerous issue. All in all, for the price, this toaster is a big, HUGE, HUGE, HUGE disappointment. I would not recommend it to anyone.

I bought this to replace a B&D toaster oven that served me well for 20 YEARS! When if finally failed, I searched for another under cabinet mount toaster often to discover that pretty much the ONLY one available these days is the BLACK+DECKER TROS1000D. Well, I couldn't even get it mounted. After drilling holes in my cabinet with the provided template, I discovered that the longest screws in the mounting kit are too short for my cabinet design and won't even reach the mounting hood. Being the weekend, I figured I'd use the toaster oven right on the counter top until I could get longer screws. (That's probably why they put feet on an "under cabinet mount" product) Well, I'll be returning this toaster oven. For one, it's WAY TOO SMALL! They say 4 slices of toast, but it better be four small squares of bread, NOT 4 nice slices of rye bread or 4 bagels! Forget about putting a small casserole dish in there! There is no height between the rack and the heating elements. Just enough space for the thickness of bread or a bagel!
This oven top gets very HOT. And the door handle gets VERY HOT.
The oven does not shut off when you open the door like my old one did.
The timer chime is so QUIET, that you'll never hear it in the next room.
No broil function FAIL!
No accessories like a tray. So I tried the tray from my old oven and it wouldn't fit because this oven is so SMALL.
Very disappointed in this product. I will be returning it.

mounting bracket causes DANGERONS situation

The mounting bracket on this unit must be defective. We followed instructions (which the diagram was not the same as the instructions) and had everything set up properly. It was difficult to attach to the bracket. After using just a few times the toaster oven fell to the counter WHILE TOASTING!. We got it back on the mounting bracket after it cooled down and it fell again. We are using it on the counter now. Very disappointing because we paid a lot extra to free up the counter space with this unit. A unit that sits on the counter was one third of the price! I didn't return it because the cost of shipping it back would have just added to my expenses.
