Aftermarket protectants or manufacturer protective dash coatings can prevent the adhesive from sticking. I have had the dash mount sterile for over 3 years. I have never had a problem with the adhesive on either piece and have actually pulled off one phone case and placed on another without replacing the adhesive. Still going strong. Dash mount has never gotten loose. I love this product and wouldn’t use any other phone mount in my vehicle.

Love these products! It’s convienent to have the steelie orbiter set up so when you are home you have your phone on a stand and when you are in your car you can easily attach to the dash via a magnet. The attachment on your phone is thin so your phone thickness does not change. Love this product!
