I just bought the vent kit yesterday for my iPhone 7plus and it does not hold my phone securely on the ball. It keeps sliding. Was a good idea at the time. Is it defective?

Phone shifts constantly

So, the concept of this device is great. The problem is that the phone never stays in position (think upright, facing the driver).
It sort of floats off kilter on the ball. VERY annoying. Had high hope, but I can’t recommend this product.

Great when it works well

I loved this product when I first got it. I have a car with a vertical vent and this product was the only one that worked with it. However, after 5 months of use the magnet no longer holds to the mount and my phone just slides off. The clip has also loosened significantly and falls off the vent. I would give this product 5 stars if it didn’t break so soon after use, especially since the price for this product isn’t cheap.

Magnet not strong enough for IphoneX

I bought one for my husband and one for myself. I so wanted this to work and for the most part it does, however the phone never stays in position. Every bump makes it tilt down. So I'm constantly repositioning it.

Love it , but it slips off my vent

Any ideas? I'm going to cut a piece of 1 mm sticky rubber and glue it to one end make the space between the two grippers tighter. Of course it has to be sticky still because that's part of how it stays in place. Any other ideas?

Does not stick to OtterBox rubber coating.

I tried sanding the outer rubber coating of the OtterBox then cleaned with alcohol pad. Would not stick to case. I'm going to cut a hole in the rubber casing so it will be able to stick to the inside plastic part of the OtterBox.
