I like it but the ball needs to be the magnetic side. When I have my phone in pocket, it gets caught on anything.

Great product & second to none customer service!

I previously wrote a review and voiced my frustrations with the product because I was having issues with the magnet and the vent clip. I contacted customer service and they responded immediately. Brian from customer service gave me suggestions on how to fix my mount and when that didn't help, he sent me replacement products. This is by far the best customer service experience I've ever had and Brian's responsiveness and great attitude really turned my initial bad experience to an amazing one. My replacement product now works great - I have a stronger magnet and the vent clip is staying in place with no problem. Because of this great experience I'm going to consider Nite Ize for any future purchases too.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The magnet isnt strong enough.

Bought it yesterday, was very disapointed. The magnet isnt strong enough to keep the phone in place. Keeps moving and shifting ending up face down or rotating.
Over promised and under delivered.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

magnet is too weak

Saw this in Sherwin Williams, I thought it was brilliant to hold the phone and be able to switch it from car to car... well, only 2nd part works. my iphone XR is too heavy and on bumps if phone stays attached, tilts all over the place, result? constant adjustments or reattaching. I guess the rubber in center is to limit movement, until fingers get this part greasy. Maybe introducing some abrasive texture to the magnet surface could fix it.
One more thing, car vents are made to direct air, not hold weight, I already had fins misaligned on bigger potholes (fortunately did not break) and I have seen broken vents in rental cars from devices like that.

Good accessory

The only issue I have, and it may just be my vents, is the steel ball is heavy which causes my vents to swing and close. I'd like to see Nite Ize use a smaller ball or a hollow ball with a satin finish. A satin finish would eliminate sun reflection off the shinny ball when the unit is not being used but is attached to the vent.

Magnet is not strong at all

after I saw all the reviews I decided to give it a try. I have a iPhone X with a life proof case. I don’t know if the phone is too heavy but the mount will not hold the phone at all. The phone moves too much and won’t hold the position longer than 2 seconds. I’ve even had the phone fall off a few times.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
