Needed a simple, low profile solution to mount a radio mike next to and behind the shift lever in a center console that also did not interfere with the e-brake lever. Looked at several options at Overland MW that required a base, arm, adaptor base and finally the mount that would have stood significantly higher than the shifter. This works as I envisioned and has just the strength needed. It can also be moved around on the ball if necessary to keep Mike out of the way...

I’ve had this on my phone for a year now. I’m constantly loosing my phone so the magnet is amazing. Especially while I’m on my construction sites. So this am I had to leave the job site and drive back to my office and then back to the job site. I had just made a phone call and put my phone on my truck to listen to music. I got back to site and found the phone in the exact same spot I had left it. I had driven 6 miles on bumpy backroads and it was still there!!! No lost phone! No broken phone!! Thank you so much for making a phenomenal product!! I recommend this to everyone.

I log over 25, 000 miles a year on the road for work and I have tried all kinds of solutions out there...The Steelie car mount system is by far the best one I found; It installs in minutes without a bunch of bulky parts that can break, it is super easy to use and see your phone from any angle, you have access to all your connections which is rare among these type of units. I thought the magnetic socket would add bulk but it really doesn't, in fact it adds a little spot for extra grip when you are holding the phone. I love mine so much I got another mount for my other car! Thanks for a truly innovative solution for securing a phone in the car.

This is for people like me who don't think to mount their phone until after they start driving. Super easy to mount with 1 hand, without even looking at the mount. My only problem is that the car gets too hot in summer here in AZ (130+ in the car) so no matter what glue I tried to use, the ball always fell off after being parked for 4 hours.
So glad the ball has a small screw in the bottom so I removed the stereo bezel and ran a small bolt from the back of the bezel so now the ball never falls off. Very happy with this mount.

Mount slips, phone is always slipping down

Although the magnetic part is strong, the rubber backing is now slipping on the metal ball, which causes my phone to always droop downwards. I always have to grab my phone and re-adjust it, defeating the purpose of this device...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
