Purchased Original Dash Kit. Great concept but lacks adhesion. Had to use additional glue to stick on a vertical surface of dash.

We are sorry that your Steelie Dash Mount is not adhering to your car. The reason this happens is there is some coating on your dash that is preventing the 3M VHB adhesive from sticking. This could be from the manufacturer or if you have ever used products like Armor All or the like. We have had great luck defeating the coating using a gentle degreaser like Simple Green. You would want to apply a small amount of the degreaser to a towel, drape it over your finger, and work it into the spot you want to mount the Steelie. When you are done, wipe it dry. Keep in mind the footprint of the mount is small, so be judicious with the degreaser. We would also advise testing this in an inconspicuous location as to ensure no discoloration occurs. It only stuck to my radio quadrant for about 8 hours and then fell off during the night. I now have to order new adhesive for the ball and to go onto the smooth surface again.

Have one on the back of my iPhone, had it stuck to the back of my boyfriends Jeep while listening to music, I ran inside and when I came back out he had moved his Jeep, he pulled forward about 6 feet and then backed over my phone
My own fault but I would think the magnet would be strong enough to hold that very short distance. I no longer have insurance on my iPhone and can’t afford to buy a new phone or even replace the screen. I’m super bummed and very disappointed in the magnet strength.

Best phone holder

I've had mine for 5 years and now have a new phone, so I'm purchasing another one. I love being able to stick my phone to my fridge and stove hood while I'm cooking. Love being able to stick it to a metal surface when I'm out & about and not having to worry about my phone falling on the ground.
