Good for limited groups of people

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shaver does a fair job for trimming one's own short hair or a small child that will not remain still. I have had this shaver for several months now and I have used it several times on my own head and my wife has used it to cut my hair as well as that of my 5 year old son who has a hard time keeping still for a haircut.
With my very limited cutting experience I can do a better job on my own hair using this shaver. However, my wife who has far better hair cutting skills greatly prefers using a traditional shaver and scissors on my hair. I typically take a #2. The motor is a bit weak and you have to move the shaver very slow or it bogs down and you are yanking hair. It does stay charged long enough for my hair to be cut as well as my son's. The shaver is always completely dead when it comes time to use it again but no biggie there, just think ahead and have it charged.
For cutting my son's hair who has a tendency to make sudden movements, this shaver is more forgiving and you don't have such a risk of a disaster cut.

I would recommend this shaver but to a limited group, those who have little to no hair cutting skills, for someone self-cutting with very short hair of all the same length, or for someone who needs to cut moving targets. Also, it would work much better on someone with thinner hair than ours and/or not as course of hair.

doesn't come close to the original

I've used it once without any extensions. It was hard to hold compared to the original shortcut clipper. It didn't catch every hair. It hurt my neck and left it red. I wish you didn't discontinue the original.

Good product, curved edge fits head better then standard clippers. This newer model is not as good as the discontinued model, I feel.

The last shortcut clipper was easier to handle. This one is harder to handle. The shape from the previous model was amazing. The last model was shaped like a comb.Remington should have just updated the previous model and made it a better quality clipper.

I have tried many hair trimmers over the years and found it to be a laborious choir to cut my own hair evenly especially the hair in the back of my head. No matter how careful I was I would always miss a patch of long hair in my head because the traditional shaped hair trimmer is awkward to hold and move around your head. BUT with this great Remington trimmer it was sooooo easy and super fast to get a perfect hair cut especially if you don't have anyone to help you. The shape of this great trimmer is simply genius. So easy to hold and move around your head--especially the hair around the ears which is usually a little difficult to get cut perfectly--but with this Remington trimmer it was super easy, super fast, and did a great perfect job. I was so amazed how light the trimmer is and how super easy and fast it was to cut my own hair. This is definitely one of the best purchases I ever made and i plan to buy more. I will never use any other type of hair trimmer again!! Highly recommended. You will be very happy!!!

I'll admit, the 1st use was perfect. After that it stopped working. I did not use it for a few days and when I tried to use it for the 2nd time it lasted 30 seconds. Thinking "NBD" I put it on charge and attempted the next day and "nothing", "dead" "caput". So until I get it fixed and able to use it multiple times I am sticking to my review. One other thing to note is if you do end up purchasing this don't ever let it drop on or bump the blade screen. That thing is built way too fragile. I didn't drop mine and maybe bumped it against something but it left a nice crease in it. I didn't notice it on the 2nd attempt until my skin touched that part and it actually nicked me nicked me pretty good! you can tell the motor has a good kick to it (if it worked:_(
