Hi..My husband and I bought the Amana Refrigerator for our daughter. Her old refrigerator was leaking from the freezer. At the time, I told her to consider having a freezer at the bottom as you really use the refrigerator the most and it is at eye level(so hubby could see everything easier) and also easier on the back. So far, they have been very happy with the choice. But, we still tell our grandson to be "gentle" with the freezer door. You know how little boys are....they are always in a hurry to slam things fast! So thank you for the great product and when my own refrigerator goes (which may be sooner than I think) we will be looking for the Amana line again. Thank you and have a great day!

Although, with only a few months experience the refrigertor/freezer is doing what it is supposed to do. The machine seems well built and well thought out for storing cold things. It is not overly sophisticated with fancy electronics and should be very reliable for a long time from what I can tell so far.

I bought this model because I had it before and loved it! I thought I was buying the black textured fridge, so imagine my surprise when the guys unpacked it and it was the black smooth finish. I was told that the finish was changed since I purchased it and took delivery of it. I can honestly say that I'm disappointed. It shows all the dirt and fingerprints that the textured one hid. Totally disappointed in the new finish. Also miss the door that swings open for the freezer. There was way more useable space in the freezer before it was switched to a drawer.
